Sometimes—but broad reliability across dynamic websites is not established. Save Page WE saves a page as it is currently rendered and offers controls for delayed content and lazy loading. Those features can help with pages that reveal content after loading or scrolling. They do not guarantee that interactive states, remote components, or embedded frames will survive as a working copy.
What Save Page WE captures
Save Page WE packages a page and captured resources into a single HTML file. The Chrome Web Store listing describes this as saving the page “as curently displayed”; that is the developer’s description, not an independent accuracy test. The Mozilla listing likewise describes saving the currently displayed HTML and referenced resources, with binary resources encoded as data URIs and external stylesheets converted to internal stylesheets. Think of the result as a snapshot, not a cloned web application. What is present in the rendered page when the save occurs is the starting point; whether its controls continue to work depends on which resources were captured and whether scripts are enabled. Sites that need a particular interaction, login, or live API request may not be represented faithfully by a static file.
Which dynamic content may be captured
Content that appears after the initial load
The Firefox listing documents a delay option that waits several seconds after the initial page-load event. It may help when a page populates results shortly after loading, such as delayed search results. A delay cannot guarantee that a component will appear if it requires a click, authentication, or a longer-running process.

Lazy-loaded content and images
Save Page WE offers two documented ways to prompt lazy content to load: Scroll Page and Shrink Page. It also has an option to load lazy images within existing content. For multi-page saves with lazy-content loading enabled, tabs are switched to the foreground. These controls can expose content that the site loads as the page is traversed, but they are not proof that every lazy element or application state has loaded.

- Basic: HTML elements, currently displayed HTML and CSS images, canvas graphics, stylesheets, and fonts used by the browser.
- Standard: Basic items plus all HTML images, audio and video, object/embed files, and WOFF fonts.
- Custom: lets the user choose among more resource types, including scripts in same-origin frames.
Choosing a broader resource set can preserve more of a page’s appearance or media, but it does not remove the browser’s cross-origin restrictions or ensure that the saved page behaves like the live one.

Where reliability breaks down
Cross-origin frames and scripts
Save Page WE’s Mozilla documentation says not all cross-origin frames can be saved. A frame is saved only if all of its cross-origin ancestor frames can run content scripts, and scripts in cross-origin frames are never saved. This can affect embedded widgets, comments, advertisements, and other third-party content. It is a documented limitation, not a measured failure rate for all embedded content.

Scripts and interactive behavior
The extension can save scripts, but saved scripts are not allowed to execute by default. A file can therefore look complete while buttons, menus, forms, or other behaviors no longer work. The extension also offers controls for retaining cross-origin frames, limiting nested-frame depth, and showing a warning or a list of resources that could not be saved. Check that report and open the saved file before relying on it.
Current browser and save-method differences
The Chrome Web Store listing identifies version 33.9, last updated September 5, 2023. It documents an old save method that remembers the last save location but can fail on some pages, citing Yahoo in Chrome 84 or later, and a new method described as able to save all pages but not remember the last save location in Chrome. The Mozilla listing identifies version 28.11, last updated March 31, 2023, and documents the same old-method caveat. A GitHub mirror says the Firefox 28.11 release predates Chrome 33.9 and that the mirror’s last code update was in 2023. These dates make it sensible to check the current browser-store listing and test the page you need; they do not establish that the extension is currently broken or incompatible. GitHub source mirror

How to assess a saved page
- Open the target page in the browser and wait for the content you need to appear. Trigger required interactions yourself before saving; a delay is not a substitute for a click or login.
- For delayed results, use the delay option documented in the Firefox listing. For lazy content, enable Scroll Page or Shrink Page and the lazy-image option as appropriate.
- Choose Basic, Standard, or Custom based on the resources the page needs. Use Custom when you need more control over resource types.
- Save the page, then open the resulting HTML file locally. Compare the essential text, images, media, frames, and interactive behavior with the original.
- Review any warning or unsaved-resource list. If the page is incomplete, try the other documented save method where available, adjust the resource selection or lazy-loading settings, and capture again.
For a meaningful reliability check, record the browser and extension versions, the page URL and login state, the steps used to reveal content, capture settings, missing-resource report, and whether the saved file preserves the appearance or behavior that matters to you. The official listings and source mirror do not publish an independent success rate or controlled dynamic-site benchmark, so store ratings should not be read as capture-performance measurements.

Save Page WE has useful documented controls for capturing rendered, delayed, and lazy-loaded content, but its own documentation describes meaningful limits around cross-origin frames and scripts. There is no independent published benchmark or success rate in the reviewed official listings and source mirror. It is reasonable to test it for a particular page and purpose; the available evidence does not support calling it reliably effective across dynamic websites in general.
