These are Save Page WE extension shortcuts, documented for its Firefox and Chrome versions. The official listings describe the same functions and user interface for both browsers.

Save Page WE’s shortcut is different from the browser’s Save command
Alt+A runs Save Page WE; it is not the browser’s built-in Save command. In Chrome, the built-in shortcut opens the browser’s save-page options: Ctrl+S on Windows and Linux, or Command+S on macOS. If you expected a browser “Save As” dialog, use the browser shortcut instead.

Save Page WE’s published default is Alt+A. Do not assume there is a separate Mac mapping: the extension listing documents one default shortcut, and Mozilla’s Firefox shortcut-customization information concerns Firefox’s own shortcuts rather than changing Save Page WE’s mapping.

How to change the Save Page WE shortcut
- Open Save Page WE’s Options page. In Firefox, right-click the extension’s toolbar button, choose Manage Extension, open the three-dot menu, and choose Options. In Chrome, right-click the toolbar button and choose Options.
- Open the Shortcuts tab.
- Change the save or cancel shortcut using the controls shown there.
Browser menus and labels can vary between releases. If the listed steps do not match your browser, open the extension’s management page and look for its Options or keyboard-shortcut controls.
What Alt+A saves—and what may be missing
Save Page WE creates one HTML file with the page’s displayed HTML and referenced resources embedded. Its Basic, Standard, and Custom save selections determine which content to include. Broader selections can include additional images, audio and video, object or embed files, fonts, and scripts in same-origin frames.

A saved file is not guaranteed to reproduce every live page offline. Some cross-origin frames or resources may not be saved, and scripts in cross-origin frames are not saved. Whether a cross-origin frame can be captured can depend on whether ancestor frames can run content scripts. Dynamic content can also be absent if it had not loaded before saving.
If a page looks incomplete, review Save Page WE’s settings for loading lazy content by scrolling or shrinking the page, and its option for lazy-loaded images. The extension can also show a warning or list of resources it could not save; use that information to identify what is missing rather than assuming the file contains every page element.

Troubleshooting
- Alt+A does nothing: Confirm Save Page WE is installed and enabled, then check its configured binding in Options > Shortcuts. Another extension, browser setting, or system-level shortcut may be using the same keys; choose a different binding there if needed.
- Alt+A opens an unexpected browser action: The shortcut may be intercepted or changed. Check Save Page WE’s Shortcuts settings; remember that the browser’s built-in save command is a separate shortcut.
- The file is missing images or other content: Check the chosen Basic, Standard, or Custom selection and the lazy-content settings. Review the extension’s missing-resource warning or list. Cross-origin frames and resources may not be saveable.
- The saved page differs from the live page: A single HTML file cannot guarantee that every dynamic feature or cross-origin script will work offline. Content that had not loaded at save time may also be absent.
- You cannot find Options: Open the browser’s extension management controls and look for Save Page WE’s Options page. Menu wording and placement can differ by browser release.
