Before buying a Samsung wireless charger, check whether your exact Galaxy model supports wireless charging. If it does, match the charger and power adapter to the speed your phone supports, then place the device correctly on the charging surface. Galaxy Watches need their own model-compatible charger.
Which Samsung Galaxy devices charge wirelessly?
Support depends on the exact model, not just whether a device is made by Samsung. Samsung’s US compatibility guidance lists supported Galaxy S, Note and Z models, along with selected Galaxy Buds and Watch products. It says Galaxy A, XCover and Tab devices are not compatible with wireless charging. Check your model against Samsung’s current phone compatibility guidance before choosing a charger.

How to choose a Samsung wireless charger
Choose based on your device’s compatibility, the charging speed supported by both the phone and charger, and where you plan to use it. A charger’s maximum rating is not a promise that every phone will charge at that speed. Samsung lists several charger forms for compatible foldables, but does not publish a controlled head-to-head performance comparison across them.

Check the product’s own specifications before purchase, especially if you need a particular phone speed, a separate adapter, or a Watch charging accessory.
How to set up a phone on a wireless charger
- Confirm compatibility. Check your exact Galaxy model against Samsung’s wireless-charging support page.
- Connect the charger to an adequate power source. Use the adapter and cable specified for the charger; an underpowered or incompatible supply can affect charging.
- Remove anything between phone and charger. Take off a case or cover if charging does not begin, and clear other obstructions from the charging surface.
- Center the phone on the pad. Samsung’s instruction is: “Place the device in the center of the charging pad and ensure there are no obstructions.”
- Close a foldable before charging. For Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip models, place the closed device with its rear side facing down.

- Model support: Verify that the exact phone supports wireless charging; a compatible charger cannot add the feature to an unsupported model.
- Position and obstruction: Center the phone and remove items between it and the charging surface. Try without the case or cover.
- Power supply: Check the cable, adapter and power source against the charger’s requirements. A weak or incompatible supply can prevent charging or limit speed.
- Software: Check for an available software update if the basic placement and power checks do not resolve the problem.
- Persistent failure: If the phone still will not charge after these checks, Samsung directs users to seek service through its support guidance.

Do not assume a phone charging pad or another Watch’s puck will work with your Galaxy Watch. Samsung’s charging guidance identifies different accessories by Watch model: some generations use a flat magnetic charging dock, while older models use another dock type. Confirm the watch model and its designated accessory in Samsung’s Galaxy Watch charging guide before buying a replacement.

Keep metal or magnetic materials out from between the Watch and its wireless charger. Samsung warns these materials can reduce charging efficiency and may damage the Watch or charger. For slow or interrupted Watch charging, Samsung also identifies adapter capability, moisture, debris and charger compatibility as possible causes.
