Samsung plans to let eligible U.S. Galaxy owners send USDC from Samsung Wallet, with the feature scheduled to launch in the last week of October 2026. As of the latest announcements (October 7 and 8, 2026), it was not yet live, and Samsung has not published an exact launch day. Solana is one of the blockchain networks Samsung names as a partner, but the announcements do not say whether you will be able to choose a network yourself.
Who can use the feature
Samsung Electronics America says the stablecoin functionality is limited to eligible U.S. residents. The announced requirements are:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- You are 18 or older and hold a Samsung Account.
- You own a Galaxy device that supports Samsung Wallet and runs Android 13 or higher.
- You complete account registration and identity verification.
- You set up biometric authentication.
The feature is described for devices that already qualify. Samsung does not present it as a reason to buy a new phone, and it does not name a specific model.

What it costs
Transfers to external wallets
Samsung says it will not charge for USDC transfers to external wallets. Samsung’s own wording in the announcement is that eligible users can send USDC to compatible crypto wallets “in seconds and with no transfer fees.” The same announcement qualifies that statement: the no-fee point refers to Samsung’s charge only, the recipient’s wallet provider or exchange may impose its own fees, and speed depends on network conditions. Treat “in seconds” as a description of the intended experience, not a delivery commitment.
Bank transfers
Bank remittances carry fees that depend on destination and amount. Samsung says the app will show the applicable fees and an estimated delivery time before you confirm. The full list of supported countries will also be shown in the app rather than published in the announcements, and recipient-bank eligibility varies.

Solana, Sui and network choice
Samsung names Solana and Sui among its partners for infrastructure and blockchain network support. The Solana Foundation’s announcement on October 7, 2026 goes further for its own network, saying stablecoins on Solana will be supported in Samsung Wallet and Samsung Pay.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsNeither announcement explains how a transfer is routed, whether you can select a network, or how sends would move between Solana and Sui. Until Samsung publishes the in-app flow, it is safest to assume that the network is determined by the service rather than chosen by the user, and to confirm the recipient’s supported network before sending.

Who holds the money
Samsung says the stablecoin accounts, custody and money movement are provided by regulated partners rather than by Samsung. Bastion will power the cross-border payment framework, and Coinbase is named as Bastion’s official sub-custodian, safeguarding Samsung Wallet USDC through Coinbase Prime Vault. Samsung states that it is not a bank, money transmitter or digital-asset custodian and does not hold customer funds. Use of the service is subject to partner terms, which Samsung says apply in addition to its own.
Coinbase, in its own October 8, 2026 announcement, says it will power USDC as the default dollar stablecoin in Samsung Wallet.

- The full list of bank-transfer countries, which Samsung says will appear in the app.
- A complete fee schedule and any guaranteed delivery times.
The “82 million” figure in Samsung’s announcement is the number of U.S. Galaxy devices compatible with Samsung Wallet. It is not a count of users, active wallets or people who will use the feature.
What Samsung says about the launch
Woncheol Chai, EVP and Head of the Digital Wallet Team at Samsung Electronics’ Mobile eXperience (MX) Business, said: “Sending money abroad should feel as convenient as using the wallet already on your phone.” The initial service supports USDC, which Samsung describes as a U.S.-dollar-denominated stablecoin.
