Which Samsung and iPhone models are a fair comparison?
Samsung’s current Galaxy S26 family has three sizes and tiers: the 6.3-inch Galaxy S26, 6.7-inch S26+, and 6.9-inch S26 Ultra, according to Samsung’s U.S. lineup page. Apple’s comparison page lists iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, iPhone Air, iPhone 17, and other models. These lineups do not map one-to-one, so first decide what size, price tier, and features you want, then compare specific models and storage capacities. Samsung announced U.S. general availability of the Galaxy S26 family beginning March 11, 2026. That is launch context, not confirmation of current stock or availability in other countries.
How do screen size and handling compare?
Start with the phone you can comfortably hold and carry. Samsung lists 6.3-, 6.7-, and 6.9-inch displays across the S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra, respectively. A larger screen may suit reading, video, or multitasking, but screen size alone does not establish the phone’s weight or how comfortable it will feel in your hand. Try the exact model if possible, and compare dimensions and weight in the manufacturers’ current specifications before buying.

Apple’s model comparison page is the place to check the current iPhone sizes against the Galaxy model you are considering. Avoid assuming that a Pro, Plus, or Ultra label means the same size or feature set across brands.
Which camera should you choose?
Choose based on what you photograph—people, pets, travel, distant subjects, or video—and compare the specific camera lenses and sample results for the models under consideration. Samsung lists a 200 MP wide camera and a 50 MP telephoto camera for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Those are manufacturer specifications; the megapixel figures alone do not show that its photos are better than an iPhone’s.

Look for comparisons made with the exact models you can buy, using similar scenes and settings. A camera’s usefulness depends on more than resolution, including lens options, processing, focus behavior, and the results you prefer. The available manufacturer specifications do not establish a matched Samsung-versus-iPhone camera winner.
What do the battery figures tell you?
Samsung lists up to 31 hours of video playback for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This is Samsung’s estimate, not an independently measured head-to-head result or a promise of everyday runtime. Battery life changes with factors such as brightness, network conditions, apps, and usage.

Do not compare that estimate directly with an Apple battery figure unless both manufacturers use comparable test methods and conditions. For a practical decision, prioritize matched testing of the exact phones and your own usage pattern; the available figures do not establish which platform lasts longer in daily use.
How should you compare price and total cost?
Samsung’s U.S. product page lists the Galaxy S26 Ultra from $1,299.99 before trade-in. This is a manufacturer-listed U.S. starting price that may change; it is not a universal price or a current street-price comparison. The cited Apple model listing does not provide a matching reliable price for a direct comparison.

Check local prices for the same storage tier, then account for trade-in value, carrier or seller discounts, and any accessories you need. Offers and availability vary by market, seller, and time, so a headline starting price cannot settle which phone costs less for you.

What about software, AI, and long-term support?
Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra product page describes Galaxy AI features including Photo Assist and a built-in Privacy Display. These are manufacturer-described features, not independent findings about AI quality or a security verdict. Availability and behavior can depend on country, language, model, and settings; check the feature details for your region.

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra Product Environmental Report states that the model receives seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from global launch. Compare that commitment with Apple’s current policy for the exact iPhone model before drawing a conclusion about which phone will remain supported longer. The cited materials do not establish a comparative support winner.
Will switching or sharing work smoothly?
Samsung describes Smart Switch as a way to move data and says Quick Share supports transfers between Galaxy devices and supported Apple devices. Samsung’s stated Quick Share support is not a guarantee that every device, software version, file type, or cross-platform workflow will work alike. Check the compatibility requirements for both phones and the data you need to move before switching.
Also consider the devices, apps, and services you already depend on. If you regularly share files or use connected products, confirm that your particular workflow works across the exact models rather than relying on a general brand-level promise.

- Set your priorities. Decide whether size, camera use, battery, software preferences, support, or price matters most.
- Choose exact models. Match storage and approximate tier, and compare the Galaxy S26 family member with the iPhone model that fits your needs.
- Check local details. Confirm current availability, full price, trade-in terms, and carrier offers in your country.
- Verify the daily-use details. Check dimensions, camera capabilities, support information, and compatibility with your apps and other devices.
- Choose by fit, not by brand slogan. If two models meet your requirements, use hands-on comfort and current local cost to make the final call.
