Record and send a voice message in Messages
Samsung documents this flow in the Galaxy Z Fold6 user manual. Follow these steps in the Messages app:

Open Messages and start a new conversation.

Add the person or people you want to message.

Look for the voice recording icon beside the message input field. In the Z Fold6 manual, the icon appears only while that field is empty. If you have typed text there, clear it and check again.

When you have finished recording, tap the send control.
The manual documents this procedure for the Galaxy Z Fold6, not every Samsung phone or messaging app. Samsung notes that menu names, paths, and screen layouts may vary by device model, software version, or app version. If your screen differs, check the instructions for your specific phone and the Messages app version you use.

A voice message is different from a saved voice memo
A voice message is recorded in a conversation and sent to its recipient. A saved recording made with Samsung’s Voice Recorder is an audio file you can keep, play, organize, and share separately. For that separate feature, Samsung’s Voice Recorder guidance says recordings on the supported configuration can be found in My Files > Internal storage > Recordings > Voice Recorder. That location applies to Voice Recorder files; it should not be assumed to be where a Messages voice message is stored.
If the recording control is missing

Check whether the message input field contains text. The Z Fold6 manual says its recording icon appears only when the field is empty.

Confirm that you are in a conversation in Messages, rather than in Voice Recorder or the phone’s call-recording controls.

Allow for differences in phone model, software version, and app version. The documented Z Fold6 layout may not match your screen exactly.
