For a Samsung Galaxy owner, Galaxy SmartTag3 is the most direct match; for other Android users who want Google Find Hub, Chipolo POP is the clearest fit. Tile Pro is also worth considering, but current official specifications and Android requirements are not established here, so compare those directly with Tile before buying. The key choice is the finding network your phone can use—not the biggest advertised Bluetooth range.
One timing detail matters: as of October 7, 2026, Samsung had announced SmartTag3, but U.S. availability was planned for early November. Release timing differs by market.

How to choose: start with your phone and finding network
- Use a Samsung Galaxy phone? Consider SmartTag3 if your model and the SmartThings app support the features you want. Compass View requires compatible Galaxy hardware; the supported models Samsung lists for Bluetooth Channel Sounding are Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy S26 Ultra, and Galaxy S26 Plus.
- Use another Android phone and want Google Find Hub? Chipolo POP is the clearest documented option here. It requires Android 9 or later with Google Play Services, and Find Hub availability also depends on country and eligible users.
- Considering Tile Pro? Check Tile’s current product and support information for Android requirements, finding-network details, range, battery, and any plan terms. Tile Pro is a current option, but exact specifications for it are not established in this comparison.
These networks affect whether other participating phones can help report a lost item’s location. Bluetooth range describes a nearby connection under stated conditions; it is not a promise that a tracker can be found at that distance in every building or environment. Prioritize phone compatibility and the finding network before comparing range figures.

What SmartTag3 offers Galaxy users
Samsung announced SmartTag3 on September 30, 2026, describing a smaller, lighter tracker with cross-OS support, faster location updates through the Galaxy Find Network, and expanded alerts. The company’s U.S. announcement set the single-tag price at $29.99 and the four-pack price at $99.99, with availability planned by early November 2026. Those are announced U.S. prices and timing, not evidence of U.S. stock on October 7. Samsung’s U.K. announcement said availability in Korea begins October 7, followed by additional markets in 2027.

- Find your things with ease: The SmartThings Find app uses Bluetooth and ultra-wideband (UWB) technology to locate and keep track of your stuff
- Water and Dust Resistant: IP67 rating offers protection against dust and water immersion between 15 cm and 1 meter for up to 30 minutes
- Compatible with Galaxy Devices Only
Samsung Canada lists Bluetooth LE 6, UWB, Bluetooth Channel Sounding, a replaceable CR2032 battery, IP67 protection, and dimensions of 31 × 31 × 8.2 mm. Its stated maximum ranges are technology-specific and should not be treated as equivalent guarantees. In particular, the up-to-60 m Channel Sounding figure is for line-of-sight conditions without obstacles; Samsung warns that walls and nearby electronics can reduce range and directional accuracy. Compass View is available only on supported Galaxy devices.
Samsung claims up to 550 days of battery life in standard use and up to 790 days in Power Saving Mode. These figures come from Samsung’s simulated internal lab testing of typical usage with a prerelease product and included CR2032; real battery life varies. Power Saving Mode removes access to some features while retaining basic Bluetooth LE finding.

- Find your things with ease: The SmartThings Find app uses Bluetooth and ultra-wideband (UWB) technology to locate and keep track of your stuff

iOS feature support differs: Samsung says Compass View, Ring Phone, and Left Behind Alert are unavailable on iOS. Some Samsung alerts also depend on nearby Galaxy devices and their settings. SmartTag3 is therefore a more natural choice when the owner’s phone is a compatible Galaxy device and the desired features are supported.

On Android, it requires Android 9 or later with Google Play Services; Find Hub availability also depends on the country and eligible users.

Where Tile Pro fits—and what to verify
Tile Pro is a relevant alternative, and Tile maintains an official product page. However, current official specifications and Android requirements are not established here. Before choosing it, confirm Tile’s current app and finding-network details, Android compatibility, range, battery, durability rating, and any plan terms on Tile’s own product or support pages. Do not assume that Tile’s figures or features match older models.
