If Samsung Quick Share is not working on Windows 11, first confirm which Quick Share app is installed: Google’s Windows app is intended for non-Samsung PCs, while Samsung PCs should use Samsung Quick Share from the Microsoft Store. Then check the app’s requirements, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, account sign-in, device visibility, and distance. These checks address common problems such as a PC not appearing or a transfer waiting for a receiver, but no single fix is guaranteed.
1. Identify which Quick Share app is installed
“Quick Share” can mean different software on a Windows PC. The correct app depends on whether the computer is made by Samsung:

- Samsung PC: Google says its Quick Share for Windows app is no longer supported on Samsung PCs. Samsung PC owners should use Samsung’s Quick Share app from the Microsoft Store.
- Non-Samsung PC: Google’s Quick Share for Windows is intended for non-Samsung PCs, subject to its Windows and architecture requirements.
Check the app’s name and publisher in Windows before troubleshooting. An unsupported-device message may point to the wrong app for the PC rather than a fault with the phone.

2. Check the Windows version and processor architecture
Google specifies 64-bit Windows 10 or later for its Windows app, and Windows 11 or later for ARM devices. These are Google Quick Share requirements; they do not establish compatibility for Samsung’s separate app. For a Samsung PC, check Samsung’s current supported-PC information for the exact model and app release.

3. Meet Samsung Quick Share’s account requirement
Samsung lists a Samsung Account, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth among the requirements for Samsung Quick Share. If you are using Samsung’s app, sign in to the required Samsung Account and confirm that sign-in completed successfully before trying to send a file.

4. Turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on both devices
Check the phone and PC, not just the device sending the file. Google’s Quick Share guidance says Wi-Fi and Bluetooth should be enabled on the Windows PC, and its troubleshooting guidance calls for checking both devices. Samsung also lists both radios as requirements for its Quick Share service.

- Please note, this device does not support E-SIM; This 4G model is compatible with all GSM networks worldwide outside of the U.S. In the US, ONLY compatible with T-Mobile and their MVNO's (Metro and Standup). It will NOT work with other CDMA carriers, and it is also not compatible with their MVNO (Visible, Xfinity Mobile, US Mobile, Cricket Wireless, etc).

- Turn on Wi-Fi on the phone and PC.
- Turn on Bluetooth on the phone and PC.
- Retry discovery after the radios are active.
If either device still cannot find the other, continue with visibility and proximity checks before changing less relevant network settings.
5. Check discoverability and keep devices close
Each device must be visible to the other under its sharing or discoverability settings. Review the active app’s current interface and set visibility so the intended recipient can be found; menu labels can vary by app and version, so avoid following instructions for a different Quick Share build.

6. Check Location if following Google’s troubleshooting guidance
Google’s guidance for Quick Share problems says to enable Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Location on both devices. If you are using Google Quick Share and discovery is failing, check Location on both ends as well as the two wireless radios. This instruction comes from Google’s troubleshooting guidance; Samsung’s listed Quick Share requirements cited here specify a Samsung Account, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, not Location.

Samsung recommends keeping Windows and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi drivers updated, and its compatibility information can differ by PC family and driver. Check Samsung’s current supported-PC list for your model, then obtain wireless drivers through the PC maker or wireless-adapter maker. An update may address a driver issue, but it cannot make an unsupported PC/app combination supported.

8. Make sure you are not troubleshooting Microsoft Nearby Sharing instead
Windows Nearby Sharing is a separate Windows feature, not Samsung Quick Share. If the sender or receiver is using Nearby Sharing, follow its own settings: enable Nearby Sharing, choose an appropriate visibility setting, turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and use a Private network profile. Do not apply the Private network instruction to Samsung Quick Share without app-specific guidance.
Microsoft Nearby Sharing instructions
9. If Nearby Sharing is slow or interrupted, check its Wi-Fi and power conditions
These steps apply to Microsoft Nearby Sharing, not Samsung Quick Share. Microsoft recommends using Wi-Fi on the same network for faster sharing, updating the Wi-Fi driver, and keeping PCs within about 30 feet (about 10 meters). If a Nearby Sharing transfer stops, check whether power or sleep settings are interrupting either PC.

10. Use a wired transfer if the file must move now
A cable is a transfer alternative, not a repair for Quick Share. Samsung says users can share files with a PC using Link to Windows or a USB cable. If using a cable, match its connectors to the phone and PC and make sure it supports data transfer; Samsung’s cited support guidance does not specify a cable type or transfer rate.
