The right choice depends on the exact model’s mapping and obstacle sensors, how it handles your floors and thresholds, whether you need serious mopping, how much dock maintenance you will tolerate, and what is actually sold in your country.
Samsung’s Jet Bot family emphasizes LiDAR, 3D sensing and AI object recognition, while Roborock’s lineup spans several families with different navigation, suction, mopping and dock designs. Treat those as product descriptions—not proof that one brand cleans every home better. Compare complete model-and-dock packages, then use the decision framework below.

The short answer
- Choose a Jet Bot when the exact Samsung model available to you provides the navigation, self-emptying and SmartThings features you want, and you prefer Samsung’s device ecosystem.
- Choose a Roborock when you want a broader range of configurations or a particular mopping and dock setup, such as the features offered by Qrevo or Saros models.
- Choose neither on brand name alone. A tall dock, low-clearance furniture, thick rugs, cords, pet toys or frequent spills can matter more than a headline suction figure.
Samsung’s Ireland product-family page and Roborock’s United States lineup cover the available models. Model names, bundles, prices, warranties and availability can differ elsewhere, so verify the local listing before paying.

Why “Samsung versus Roborock” is not a model-to-model test
Samsung’s Jet Bot page presents a family of products rather than one globally identical machine. Roborock’s United States page lists several families, including Qrevo, Qrevo Slim, Q10 and Q7, alongside higher-end lines. Their brushes, mop systems, obstacle sensors, batteries, docks and software controls are not interchangeable.
#1 Best Overall
- 【2-in-1 Mopping and Vacuuming】 The ROPVACNIC Robot S1 integrates advanced electronically controlled mopping technology, significantly enhancing both cleaning efficiency and effectiveness, which makes your floors remain free from footprints, dirt, and dust throughout the day. It features an upgraded high-capacity water tank with a four-stage personalized water adjustment system, enabling it to address various stains across different settings according to user requirements.
- 【Comprehensive Intelligent Control】 Multiple Cleaning Modes, combined with personalized settings, allow you to easily accomplish various household cleaning tasks with zero effort from your smartphone. Moreover, by voice commands, you can start your cleaning while kicking back and relaxing (compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant). Enjoy an utterly hands-free cleaning experience.
- 【5200Pa Powerful Suction】A 3-point cleaning system coupled with strong suction ensures your floors are free from all dirt, dust, and crumbs for a thorough, superior clean. The highly passable compact design combined with 3-level suction facilitates cleaning in hard-to-reach areas where you can't, making it suitable for a wide range of surfaces from wood, and hard floors to low pile carpets.
- 【Smarter High Automation & Self-Recharge】 The robot aspiradora is equipped with an advanced high-coverage sensing system and multiple algorithmic data points, enabling autonomous completion of cleaning tasks—from scheduled starting, detecting obstacles, adjusting direction, and switching modes, to automatically returning to recharge. This hassle-free operation ensures a clean home when you return.
- 【Engineered for Pet Owner】 The exclusive no-entanglement design negates the need for your dirty hands to clean up tangled dog or cat hair, unlike traditional roller brushes. Its dual rotating electric side brushes sweep and collect hidden pet hair more efficiently throughout the house, saving you the hassle.
A fair comparison therefore has four parts:
- Write down the complete model number and country suffix for each candidate.
- Record what is included in the dock bundle: dust emptying, water tanks, mop washing or drying, detergent handling and any required consumables.
- Check the physical dimensions against your furniture, thresholds and storage space.
- Use independent tests for cleaning performance; use manufacturer pages for feature and compatibility details.
Do not infer that every Jet Bot has the same sensors, or that every Roborock has the same obstacle avoidance. Features vary within both families.
What Samsung Jet Bot brings to the comparison
LiDAR mapping plus object recognition
Samsung says Jet Bot combines LiDAR with 3D sensors and AI object recognition. Its description says the robot identifies possible obstructions and breakable objects, selects a path around them, and uses LiDAR to track its location so dirty areas are less likely to be missed. That is Samsung’s product claim, not an independent validation of navigation or cleaning results.
In practical terms, this combination addresses two different jobs. LiDAR is primarily for locating the robot and building a map; recognition and proximity sensing are for deciding whether an object, cable or fragile item should be avoided. A map can be accurate while small-object avoidance is poor, so evaluate both behaviors.
Clean Station and self-emptying
The same Samsung page says Jet Bot returns to its Clean Station to dispose of collected dust. Self-emptying reduces how often you handle the robot’s bin, but it does not eliminate maintenance: filters, brushes, sensors, wheels and the station’s bag or container still need attention. The exact station equipment and consumable design depend on the model and market.
Jet Live and regional variation
Samsung’s Ireland family page also presents Jet Live among its features. Treat that as a model- and region-dependent capability, not a promise that every Jet Bot sold elsewhere includes the same camera, viewing or app functions. Check the local specification sheet and the supported phone or smart-home integrations before buying.
Use Samsung’s official family page as the starting point, then open the exact local product page: Samsung vacuum cleaners.
What the Roborock range brings to the comparison
More families, more configurations
Roborock’s US lineup separates products into families with different combinations of mapping, suction, brush design, mopping and dock automation. The lineup page includes Qrevo, Qrevo Slim, Q10 and Q7 families, among others. That breadth can make it easier to find a fit for a particular budget or floor plan, but it also makes a brand-level verdict especially unreliable.
Read the specifications for the exact robot and dock sold together. A model name may have multiple packages, and a robot advertised with advanced mopping may be sold in a bundle whose dock does not provide every advertised maintenance function.
Saros 10R: an example of model-specific hardware
Roborock’s support article identifies the Saros 10R’s 3D ToF sensing and VertiBeam lateral obstacle-avoidance system. It lists a 6,400 mAh battery and a dock that washes mops with water up to 80°C. Those are Roborock-published specifications for Saros 10R, not measurements that can be transferred to every Roborock model or compared directly with a Jet Bot.
Saros 20 versus Saros 10R claims
In a comparison dated April 21, 2026, Roborock says Saros 20 provides up to 13N of downward mopping pressure versus up to 8N for Saros 10R, and recognizes more than 300 obstacle types versus 108. The same company comparison discusses differences in carpet behavior, mopping and dock functions. “Up to” figures are manufacturer specifications under the company’s stated conditions; they are not independent head-to-head cleaning scores.

Match the robot to your floors and layout
Hard floors, rugs and carpet
List every surface, including low-pile rugs, high-pile carpet, tile grout and transitions between rooms. A robot that maps well can still struggle with a tall threshold or a rug fringe. Ask whether the model can raise, retract or remove its mop before crossing carpet, and whether the dock has enough room for the robot to approach straight on.
Do not rank machines by suction numbers alone. Independent tests should show pickup on hard floors, embedded debris and carpet; the cited manufacturer pages do not provide a controlled Samsung-versus-Roborock result. If a review reports a winner, check that it tested the same generation and a comparable dock package.
Pets and loose debris
Pet hair creates two separate demands: pickup and tangle resistance. Inspect brush construction, access for cutting wrapped hair and the cost and availability of replacements. Object recognition can help avoid bowls and toys, but it cannot make a cluttered floor safe. Clear small items before scheduled runs until you know how your particular robot behaves.
Thresholds and low furniture
Measure door lips, room transitions and the gap beneath sofas or cabinets. A robot may fit under one piece of furniture but fail at the dock because the station requires additional overhead or side clearance. TechRadar names Qrevo Curv as its tested overall choice in its roundup while warning that its height and budget can make it unsuitable for some homes; that is an independent roundup judgment, not a direct Jet Bot comparison. See the TechRadar robot-vacuum roundup for the stated caveat.

Clutter and fragile objects
Count the items that appear on the floor every day: charging cables, socks, children’s toys, pet dishes and plants. Navigation labels such as LiDAR, 3D sensing or ToF describe hardware, not guaranteed avoidance of every object. If a room cannot be cleared, favor a model with documented object-recognition behavior and use no-go zones around fragile areas.
When mopping and the dock should decide the purchase
Basic damp wiping versus active mop care
Decide what “mopping” means in your home. If you only want a light wipe on sealed hard floors, a simpler pad system may be sufficient. Sticky kitchen residue, frequent spills or large hard-floor areas make water management, pad pressure and washing more important. Verify whether the model lifts or removes its mop before carpet, how much clean and dirty water the dock holds, and whether pads dry between runs.
Dock automation and maintenance trade-offs
A highly automated dock can empty dust, refill water, dispense detergent and wash or dry mop pads, but it also occupies more floor space and has more tanks, filters and channels to clean. Roborock’s Saros 10R support page documents 80°C mop washing; Roborock’s Saros 20 comparison describes auto emptying, tank refilling, detergent dispensing and mop washing for that model’s dock configuration. Do not assume those functions are present in a lower-priced family or in every regional bundle.
Before buying, find out where the dock’s dirty-water tank, dust bag and detergent reservoir are accessed. A station that technically fits but cannot be opened without moving furniture will become a daily annoyance.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsWater and flooring precautions
Use only the cleaning solution and water treatment permitted by the exact manufacturer instructions. Keep unsealed wood, delicate rugs and flooring with vulnerable seams out of automated mopping schedules unless the product documentation explicitly supports them. Create separate vacuum-only rooms or zones when necessary.
How to judge navigation and obstacle claims
Navigation has three observable outcomes:
- Coverage: Does the map include every accessible room, and does the robot return to missed areas?
- Localization: Can it resume after charging without creating duplicate maps or getting lost?
- Object behavior: Does it slow, reroute or stop before cables, fragile items and furniture?
LiDAR, 3D sensors, AI recognition, 3D ToF and lateral-beam systems are implementation details that may support those outcomes. They are not interchangeable scores. A manufacturer’s count of recognized obstacle types is also not the same as a laboratory success rate. Look for tests that describe lighting, object size, cable placement, floor type and whether the robot was allowed to complete multiple runs.

A decision process that avoids an expensive mismatch
- Define the cleaning job. Write down floor types, carpeted rooms, pets, number of levels, thresholds, low furniture and the amount of clutter that remains on the floor.
- Set a maintenance limit. Decide how often you are willing to empty dust, refill water, wash pads, clean brushes and replace bags or filters. Eliminate docks that require more space or handling than you will provide.
- Choose must-have functions. Examples include self-emptying, carpet-safe mopping, mop washing, multi-floor maps, obstacle avoidance or a specific smart-home integration.
- Shortlist exact SKUs. Compare one Jet Bot model and one or more Roborock models with equivalent dock capabilities. Record model numbers and included accessories.
- Measure the home. Check robot height, dock footprint, clearance above the dock, door thresholds and the width of routes between furniture.
- Validate local ownership. Confirm price, stock, warranty, return period, consumables and service availability in your country.
- Use independent evidence carefully. Prefer same-generation tests with clear methods. A roundup recommendation, such as TechRadar’s Qrevo Curv selection, should inform—not replace—your fit check.
- Test immediately after delivery. Map each floor, run vacuum-only cycles first, set no-go zones, then introduce mopping and unattended schedules.
First-week setup and testing
Prepare the dock
Place the station on a level, hard surface with the manufacturer’s required clearance. Keep its path free of cables and loose objects. Fill or install only the supplies specified for that model, and check that the robot can approach, dock and leave without scraping nearby furniture.
Create a reliable map
Open doors to the rooms you want included, lift curtains and remove temporary obstacles. Let the robot complete a supervised mapping run. Rename rooms, divide areas only when the map is stable, and mark stairs, pet-feeding zones or fragile displays as no-go areas.
Run controlled cleaning cycles
Start with vacuuming on each floor type. Inspect corners, thresholds, rugs and the brush for tangles. Next test mopping on a small, suitable hard-floor area while checking water flow and carpet behavior. Only after these runs should you enable recurring schedules.
Record consumables and alerts
Save the exact model number and photograph labels on bags, filters, pads and cleaning solution. Read the app’s error history after the first week. Early records make warranty claims and replacement-part searches much easier.
Common failure modes and fixes
The robot misses a room or repeats a path
- Check that the map was created with every door open and that the room is not marked as a restricted zone.
- Clean the LiDAR window, cameras or proximity sensors with a dry, soft cloth as directed by the manual.
- Move the dock only when necessary; relocating it can require a new map.
It gets stuck on rugs, thresholds or under furniture
- Measure the obstruction and compare it with the exact model’s clearance and climbing specifications.
- Secure rug fringes and add a no-go zone around a transition the robot cannot cross reliably.
- Keep the dock route clear; a robot that cleans well but cannot return will not complete scheduled runs.
Objects are damaged or dragged
- Remove cables, small toys and fragile items from the floor before unattended cleaning.
- Use object-avoidance settings or no-go zones where the app provides them.
- Do not treat an advertised recognition count as a guarantee for your particular objects.
Mopping leaves too much water or poor results
- Confirm the correct water tank, pad installation and cleaning mode.
- Check that the dock’s wash and dry cycles complete and that dirty water is not full.
- Use vacuum-only or mop-excluded zones on carpet and moisture-sensitive floors.
The dock stops emptying or washing
- Inspect the dust bag or container, clean-water and dirty-water levels, pad-wash tray and air path.
- Look for a full-tank, blocked-channel or consumable alert in the app.
- If the exact manual’s cleaning steps do not resolve it, stop using the affected function and contact local support while the warranty applies.
What the available evidence can—and cannot—tell you
Samsung’s page establishes the features Samsung attributes to Jet Bot. Roborock’s lineup and support pages establish model-specific configurations. Roborock’s April 2026 comparison supplies the Saros 20 and Saros 10R figures cited above. None of those pages is a neutral laboratory test, and none publishes a Samsung-versus-Roborock cleaning percentage, satisfaction rate or market-share statistic.
TechRadar’s roundup is useful for practical context because it reports Qrevo Curv as its tested overall choice while noting height and budget limitations. It is not a controlled direct comparison with a Jet Bot. Use it as one data point alongside measurements of your own home and the exact local products available to you.
Final buying guidance
Start with the room, not the logo. If your priority is Samsung’s Jet Bot navigation and Clean Station concept, identify the precise regional model and verify its dock, app and mopping functions. If you need a specific combination of mop washing, water handling, carpet behavior or obstacle sensing, search Roborock’s families for a model whose complete bundle supplies it. In either case, measure clearances, price the recurring supplies and validate the return policy before committing.
The most defensible choice is the model that can repeatedly cover your floors, avoid your everyday clutter, fit beneath your furniture and dock without intervention, and stay within your maintenance tolerance—not the brand with the longest feature list.
