Switch it off and unplug it only if you can do so safely, keep people away from broken glass, and do not cook on it again until the surface has been replaced. The right replacement and repair procedure depend on the appliance’s complete model code; there is no universal Samsung glass-top part or removal sequence.
What to do first if the glass is cracked
Samsung’s Dacor range user manual states: “If the surface is cracked, switch off and unplug the appliance to avoid the possibility of electrical shock. Do not use your cooktop until the glass surface has been replaced.” This is a Samsung-published Dacor manual; use it for the immediate safety warning, not as a substitute for the manual for your own model. Samsung’s safety guidance also warns against cooking on broken glass because of shock, fire, or cuts (Samsung safety and legal information).

- Turn the appliance off. Unplug it only if the plug is safely accessible without touching broken glass, exposed wiring, or damaged parts.
- Keep children, pets, and others away from the damaged surface. Do not handle fragments unless necessary to prevent immediate injury.
- Do not use the cooktop while the glass is cracked, even if the burners still appear to work.
Identify the appliance and its full model code
First determine whether you have a freestanding electric range, which includes an oven, or a standalone electric or induction cooktop. Their top assemblies and disassembly instructions can differ. Record the complete model code, including its suffix, from the appliance rating label or its documentation. Do not rely on a partial model name or on the appliance’s appearance.

Confirm the exact replacement assembly before ordering
Search using the complete model code, then verify the exact assembly part number and compatibility with Samsung or a parts supplier before paying. Check any suffix or revision notes and confirm that the listing matches your appliance type. Width, color, burner layout, or a similar-looking glass surface is not enough to establish fit.
A listing for a Samsung glass cooktop assembly applies to the models specified on that listing; it does not establish compatibility with other Samsung ranges or cooktops (example model-specific parts listing). A useful search phrase is “Samsung range glass cooktop assembly replacement,” followed by your full model code. Do not buy a generic glass sheet or assume a universal adhesive can replace the factory assembly.

Choose a repair route

Current prices, stock, warranty coverage, scheduling, and a general repair-versus-replacement threshold are not established here. Request a quote based on your model and damage. Replacing the glass may not fix a burner or another underlying fault; ask the technician to diagnose any symptoms beyond the cracked surface.
Use model-specific service instructions—not a generic removal recipe
Samsung’s manual advises that service be performed by qualified personnel and directs owners to an authorized service center for repair. If you do not have the correct service documentation, tools, and repair experience for your exact model, contact Samsung support or a qualified appliance technician.

Removal steps are design-specific. For example, a third-party transcription of the Samsung CC70F30S2DAA electric-cooktop service manual describes turning off electrical supply, removing 12 screws, and lifting the top assembly. Those details apply to that model’s documented procedure only; they are not instructions for another Samsung appliance (CC70F30S2DAA service-manual transcription).
If a qualified DIY repair is undertaken, follow the service documentation for the complete model code, disconnect power exactly as directed there, and restore all panels and ground connections before operation. Do not improvise from a video, parts listing, or another model’s steps. Samsung’s overview for installing a new range concerns new-range installation; it is not a glass-repair procedure.

Before using the appliance again
Have the completed repair checked against the exact model’s installation requirements. Do not test the cooktop with cracked glass, missing panels, exposed wiring, or incomplete grounding. Follow the model-specific service instructions and the technician’s guidance for returning the appliance to use; there is no universal post-repair test established for every Samsung range and cooktop.
