For an S25 owner, upgrading makes the most sense if you want the larger screen and the local net cost after trade-in is worthwhile—not because the published specifications prove longer battery life or better photos.
What’s different between the Galaxy S26 and S25?
Samsung’s comparison of the standard models shows a modest hardware step forward in screen size and battery capacity. The headline rear-camera resolutions remain the same.

| Display | 6.3-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X, 120 Hz | 6.2-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X, 120 Hz | The S26’s listed diagonal is 0.1 inch larger. Samsung measures the diagonal across the full rectangle; rounded corners reduce the viewable area. |
| Typical battery capacity | 4,300 mAh | 4,000 mAh | The S26 has 300 mAh more stated capacity. That figure alone does not establish how much longer either phone lasts in everyday use. |

Is the Galaxy S26 worth upgrading to from the S25?
There is no universal yes or no: it depends on how much you value the small increase in screen size and stated battery capacity, and what the upgrade actually costs you. Current local prices, S25 discounts, and trade-in offers are not established here, so compare the net price in your market rather than relying on a general price assumption.

Consider the S26 if
- You would welcome a slightly larger display.
- You want the greater stated battery capacity, while understanding that it is not a real-world endurance result.
- Your trade-in offer or local pricing makes the upgrade worthwhile to you.
Keeping the S25 may suit you if
- You prefer a more compact phone; the S26’s larger listed screen could be a drawback.
- Your main reason to upgrade is a promised camera improvement. The listed resolutions do not establish better photos, and no independent head-to-head image-quality test is available here.
- The actual upgrade cost is not justified by the changes you care about.
Is the Galaxy S26 camera better?
Samsung lists the same rear-camera resolutions on the standard S26 and S25: 12 MP ultra-wide, 50 MP wide, and 10 MP telephoto. Resolution figures alone cannot show whether one phone produces better photos. Without independent comparative testing, it would be misleading to promise a camera-quality improvement—or to conclude that the results are identical.
How much bigger is the S26 battery, and will it last longer?
Samsung lists the S26 at 4,300 mAh typical capacity and the S25 at 4,000 mAh, a difference of 300 mAh. Capacity is a specification, not a measurement of screen-on time or days between charges. Actual endurance is not established by these figures, so they are not enough to predict how much longer the S26 will last for your use.

Which processor does each model use?
Samsung’s comparison lists the S26 with either Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy or Exynos 2600, depending on market. The cited regional comparison lists Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy for the S25. Samsung notes that processor and configuration can vary by market, so confirm the exact regional model before buying rather than assuming every S26 is the same.

What to check before buying
- Confirm the exact model and market. Check the processor and configuration listed for the phone sold in your region.
- Compare the net cost. Look at the local S26 price, any S25 discount, and your actual trade-in value; no current offers or prices are established here.
- Decide whether the size change suits you. The listed display diagonal increases from 6.2 to 6.3 inches, which may be welcome or may make the phone less compact than you prefer.
- Match the reason for upgrading to the evidence. The listed battery capacity is higher, but not proof of longer runtime; the rear-camera resolutions match, but not proof of equal or better image quality.
