Samsung presents ease as its product goal. Independent hands-on testing of how well these features work day to day is not established by the sources behind this article, so what follows separates what Samsung describes from what is verified.
What Samsung means by “easiest”
In Samsung’s launch announcement for the Galaxy S26 series, published February 26, 2026, TM Roh, Chief Executive Officer, President, and Head of Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics, said: “We believe AI should be something people can depend on every day, designed to work consistently for everyone and without the need for expertise.” In practical terms, “easy” here means fewer taps, fewer app hops, and fewer settings to hunt for. It does not mean a new interface you have to learn. Samsung’s examples below are the concrete basis for that claim.

Five everyday examples Samsung describes
1. Suggestions that cut down app switching
Samsung’s example for Now Nudge is a request for trip pictures. Instead of opening Gallery and searching by hand, the phone suggests relevant photos in the moment. A second example is meeting messages: when the phone recognizes a meeting in a message, it can check Calendar for conflicts. Both cases move a task that would normally span two or three apps into one prompt.
2. Reminders surfaced from context
Now Brief is described as surfacing reminders such as restaurant reservations and travel updates, based on personal context. The practical gain is that you do not need to create the reminder yourself or remember to check a confirmation email. Samsung does not describe how the context is gathered or what can be turned off, so check Samsung’s current settings for Now Brief on your own device before relying on it.

- HELP THAT KEEPS UP: Stay in the moment while Now Nudge with Galaxy AI helps you respond faster and stay organized with smart suggestions⁵ that appear exactly when you need them on your phone
3. Natural-language device control
Bixby accepts natural-language requests to navigate device settings. Instead of searching the Settings menu for an option by name, you describe what you want. This is the feature most likely to help people who find the settings menu deep or confusing, although Samsung’s material does not measure how often it succeeds.
4. Visual search that handles several objects
Circle to Search adds multi-object recognition. You can circle a scene containing several items and get results for more than one object in a single search, rather than running a separate search for each item.

5. Optional agents for multi-step tasks
Samsung says the Galaxy S26 can work with Bixby, Gemini, and Perplexity, and that some multi-step tasks can run across apps. Its example is a taxi booking: the assistant prepares the booking, you review the details, and you tap to confirm. The confirmation step is intentional. The agent does the navigation between apps, but you approve the final action.
Where AI processing happens
Whether Galaxy AI “needs internet” depends on the feature. Samsung Support’s guidance for Galaxy AI, on its US support site, divides features this way:
Rank #3
- PRIVACY DISPLAY: Automatically hide your screen from those beside you. The built-in privacy display can be preset¹ to turn on when receiving notifications, typing passwords, or using specific apps
- TYPE IT IN. TRANSFORM IT FAST: Enhance any shot in seconds on your smartphone by using Photo Assist² with Galaxy AI.³ Add objects, restore details, or apply new styles by simply typing or tapping

| Feature type | Where processing happens, per Samsung Support |
|---|---|
| Most translations | On-device |
| Gallery Edit Suggestions | On-device |
| Most other Galaxy AI features | Use a network connection and cloud processing in some way |
Samsung documents an option to limit AI processing to on-device. The support material does not, in the sources reviewed for this article, give a complete list of which features remain available under that setting, so check the current feature list in Samsung Support before assuming a specific feature will work offline.
Setup requirements that affect whether features appear
Galaxy AI features are not all available to every owner. Before you expect a feature, confirm each of these:

- PRIVACY DISPLAY: Automatically hide your screen from those beside you. The built-in privacy display can be preset¹ to turn on when receiving notifications, typing passwords, or using specific apps
- TYPE IT IN. TRANSFORM IT FAST: Enhance any shot in seconds on your smartphone by using Photo Assist² with Galaxy AI.³ Add objects, restore details, or apply new styles by simply typing or tapping

- Samsung account: Samsung Support says signing in to a Samsung account activates Galaxy AI features.
- Region or country: Samsung says AI availability can depend on where you live.
- Software version: Availability can depend on the One UI version installed. Check for updates before troubleshooting a missing feature.
- Device model: Features can differ between models, so confirm the feature list for the S26 Ultra specifically.
- Carrier: Carrier-supplied phones can differ in which features are enabled.
Privacy Display: an Ultra-specific control
The Galaxy S26 Ultra includes a built-in Privacy Display that you can configure for situations such as entering credentials, using selected apps, or receiving notification pop-ups. When enabled, it limits what people beside you can see from the side view. Samsung says that the side-view limitation activates only when the feature is turned on, and that full viewing quality is preserved when it is off. This is a privacy feature rather than an AI feature, but it is part of the same Ultra experience and is not available in the same form on the standard model Samsung describes in these materials.
The performance figures Samsung publishes
Samsung’s launch announcement gives the following figures. All of them are manufacturer claims. None measures how well an AI answer, suggestion, or reminder performs in everyday use.
Best Value
- 6.8" Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, up to ~1750 nits brightness, HDR10+ support, and ultra-smooth responsiveness for gaming and scrolling.
| Figure (Samsung’s claim) | What Samsung states | What it does not tell you |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 19% CPU performance increase | Compared with the previous generation | Test conditions not stated; not an AI quality measure |
| 39% NPU performance improvement | Samsung says this supports always-on Galaxy AI features | Not an independent measure of AI accuracy or speed |
| 24% GPU performance boost | Stated as a boost; comparison baseline not stated | Not stated |
| Up to 75% charge in 30 minutes | Samsung’s Super Fast Charging 3.0 figure | Test conditions not stated; battery impact of AI use not established |
| Seven years of security updates | Samsung’s stated support period | Not an AI feature |
Optional companion: Galaxy Buds4 or Buds4 Pro
Samsung describes the Galaxy Buds4 and Buds4 Pro as companions that extend interactions when hands-free use is useful. They are optional. The AI features described above do not require earbuds.
What is and is not established
The claims in this article come from Samsung’s announcement and Samsung Support documentation. They establish what Samsung says the Galaxy S26 Ultra does and how Samsung says processing and availability work. They do not establish independent usability, accuracy, battery impact, or how the S26 Ultra’s AI compares with other phones. Current pricing, stock, and regional rollout should be checked at the time you read this, because availability varies by country, carrier, and software version.
The practical test for “easiest” is simple: pick two or three tasks you do every week, such as finding trip photos, checking a reservation, or changing a setting, and see whether the S26 Ultra cuts the steps for you. Samsung’s examples suggest it may. Whether it does for you depends on your region, account, software version, and how you use the phone.
