The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is worth considering if a remarkably thin, light phone matters more to you than long battery life or a dedicated zoom camera. At 5.8mm thick and 163g, it pairs an unusually slim body with a 6.7-inch, high-resolution display. But its 3,900mAh battery, 25W wired charging and lack of a telephoto camera make the more practical Galaxy S25+ a stronger fit for many people. Whether the Edge makes sense depends on how much you value its form factor—and the price you can actually find locally.
What makes the Galaxy S25 Edge different?
The Edge’s defining feature is how little phone there is around its large screen. Samsung lists dimensions of 75.6 × 158.2 × 5.8mm and a weight of 163g. For context, those are manufacturer specifications, not measurements of a case-equipped phone. A case adds bulk and can reduce the handling advantage; Samuel Gibbs noted this trade-off in his June 10, 2025 Guardian review.

Its 6.7-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display supports an adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rate. Samsung measures the screen as 6.7 inches across the full rectangle and 6.5 inches when accounting for rounded corners. SamMobile regarded the display as a strength, while Tom’s Guide found the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and 12GB of RAM handled demanding use smoothly. Those are reviewer assessments, not guarantees for every workload or temperature.

These materials and the ingress-protection rating do not make the phone drop-proof or mean it should be treated as immune to water damage. How good are the cameras?
The rear camera system consists of a 200MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide. There is no dedicated telephoto camera. The high-resolution main sensor can be used for digital cropping, so it is inaccurate to say the phone has no zoom at all; however, cropping is not the same as having a separate optical telephoto camera.
SamMobile praised the main camera for regular photos, and Tom’s Guide highlighted low-light results in its comparison. Tom’s Guide also showed the limits of digital zoom against a phone equipped with telephoto cameras. If photographing distant subjects is a priority, the missing dedicated zoom lens is a real compromise, not just a specification-sheet distinction.

How long does the battery last, and how fast does it charge?
Samsung lists a 3,900mAh battery, and wired charging is capped at 25W. In Tom’s Guide’s adaptive-refresh battery benchmark, the S25 Edge averaged 12 hours 24 minutes. That is one outlet’s test result under its own conditions, not a prediction of how long every owner’s phone will last. Tom’s Guide also recorded 27% charge after 15 minutes and 54% after 30 minutes in its charging test.
Battery life is the phone’s most consistent weakness in reviews. SamMobile called it the phone’s worst feature, while Tom’s Guide measured longer results for the S25+ and S25 Ultra in its benchmark. If you regularly use your phone heavily, rely on it throughout long days, or want faster wired top-ups, the Edge’s battery and charging limits deserve more weight than its thin profile.

- High-resolution 200MP main camera; reviewers praised regular photos and low-light performance.

Cons
- Battery endurance trails larger S25 models in Tom’s Guide’s benchmark.
- 25W wired charging is a modest limit for a flagship.

- A case adds bulk and diminishes the slimness advantage.
- Its value depends heavily on current local pricing compared with the S25+.
Should you buy the S25 Edge or the S25+?
The S25 Edge is the choice for buyers who put thinness and low weight first. The S25+ is the more practical alternative in the cited reviews: it offers a larger battery, a dedicated telephoto camera and 45W wired charging. The S25 Ultra is a possible step up for people prioritizing zoom and additional features, but it is bulkier. These differences are more useful than comparing old launch prices; check current local prices, storage options and availability before deciding.
Samsung announced US launch prices of $1,099.99 for 256GB and $1,219.99 for 512GB, with general availability beginning May 30, 2025. Those are historical US launch prices, not current quotes or prices for other countries. October 2026 street pricing and inventory have not been verified here, so a purchase recommendation should depend on the actual offer available to you.

Verdict: who should buy the Galaxy S25 Edge?
The S25 Edge is a specialized flagship, not the default recommendation for someone simply seeking a good all-round phone. Buy it if its combination of a large screen and exceptionally slim, light body is the feature you value most, and you are comfortable trading away battery headroom, faster charging and a dedicated telephoto camera. If you want a more balanced phone, compare the S25+ at the same storage capacity and current local price. GSMArena’s review verdict likewise treats the form factor as the central reason to choose the Edge, with its price and compromises limiting its appeal.
