How different are their screens and size?
Galaxy S24 Ultra: more display area and S Pen input
The S24 Ultra has a 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 1–120Hz refresh rate. It also supports the S Pen, making it the option to consider if you want a larger viewing or writing surface and stylus input.
iPhone 18 Pro: smaller OLED display
Apple lists a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED panel with adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz. Apple notes that the 6.3-inch measurement is diagonal; the actual viewable area is 6.27 inches. The smaller listed diagonal makes the iPhone the more compact-screen choice on these specifications, though screen size alone does not establish how comfortable either phone feels in hand.
#1 Best Overall
- 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — delivering a bright, sharp screen with smooth scrolling and great outdoor visibility.
What do the camera specifications establish?
Samsung lists four rear camera resolutions: a 200MP main camera, 50MP 5x telephoto, 10MP 3x telephoto, and 12MP ultra-wide. Apple’s specification page should be consulted for the iPhone’s full camera configuration before comparing specific lenses or capabilities.
These figures describe hardware, not comparative photo or video quality. Megapixel counts alone cannot establish which phone takes better pictures. A decision based on cameras should account for lens options, video features, and sample images; no controlled comparison is established by the cited specifications.
Rank #2
- 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — delivering a bright, sharp screen with smooth scrolling and great outdoor visibility.
How do storage options and launch prices compare?
Both phones start at 256GB in their announced lineups. Samsung listed 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB configurations for the S24 Ultra; Apple lists those tiers plus a 2TB iPhone 18 Pro. The higher maximum capacity is an Apple-listed option, but the useful value comparison depends on the price of the storage tier you would actually buy.
At launch in the United States, Samsung set the Galaxy S24 Ultra starting price at $1,299.99, and Apple set the iPhone 18 Pro starting price at $1,199. The difference is $100.99, with the S24 Ultra starting higher. These are historical launch MSRPs, not current retailer prices. Current prices depend on seller, storage, condition, carrier or unlocked status, warranty, and promotions; check live listings on the same basis before buying.

Which phone should you choose?
Consider the Galaxy S24 Ultra if
- You want the larger 6.8-inch display or built-in S Pen support.
- You want Samsung’s listed rear-camera resolution and telephoto configuration to guide further comparison.
- You are choosing among 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options.
Consider the iPhone 18 Pro if
- You prefer the smaller 6.3-inch display specification.
- You use Apple’s operating-system ecosystem or need to check compatibility with your apps, wearables, messaging, and accounts.
- You want a 2TB storage tier, which Apple lists for this model.
These are fit-based distinctions, not a claim that one phone performs better overall. The launch dates are more than two years apart, and the available specifications do not establish a comparative winner for battery runtime, camera results, or everyday performance.
