To power off a Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, press and hold the Side and Volume Down buttons together until the power menu appears. Tap Power off, then tap it again to confirm. If the screen works, you can also shut down from Quick Settings.
Power off with the buttons
- Press and hold the Side and Volume Down buttons together for a few seconds, until the power menu appears.
- Tap Power off.
- Tap Power off again to confirm.

Use Quick Settings instead
- Swipe down from the top of the screen to open Quick Settings. If the panel is only partly open, swipe down again to expand it.
- Tap the Power icon.
- Tap Power off, then confirm by tapping it again.

If a long press opens Bixby
A long press of the Side button may open Bixby instead of the power menu because its action can be customized. Where the option is available, go to Settings > Advanced features > Side button and set the press-and-hold action to Power off menu. If the phone is frozen
If the S21 FE is unresponsive and you cannot use the on-screen menu, hold Volume Down and the Side/Power button together for about 10 seconds, or until the device turns off and back on. For an ordinary restart rather than shutdown, open the same power menu and select Restart. Available settings and interface labels can vary by model, software version, and carrier.
