The Redmi Note 15 SE 5G lists a larger battery and faster charging; the Samsung Galaxy M36 5G offers optical image stabilization (OIS) on its rear camera and a stated six-generation Android upgrade commitment. Neither spec sheet proves which phone lasts longer or takes better photos. For price, the available figures are not a like-for-like current comparison: Samsung’s are India launch prices from 2025, while Xiaomi’s cited listing is a 2026 retail observation for a different memory tier.
Price difference: why the available figures do not match
Samsung’s India launch announcement on 30 June 2025 listed the Galaxy M36 at ₹17,999 for 8GB/128GB and ₹20,999 for 8GB/256GB. Its 6GB/128GB price was ₹16,499 with a ₹1,000 instant bank discount, so that figure is not an undiscounted base price. Samsung said sales would begin on 12 July 2025 through Samsung.com, Amazon and select retail stores. Samsung Newsroom India’s launch announcement records those launch terms.

Xiaomi’s official India store showed the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G Crimson Reserve 6GB/128GB at ₹25,999 in a 2026 listing observation. Retail prices and availability can change; this is not a launch-price baseline. The cited Redmi listing is 6GB/128GB, while Samsung’s commonly quoted comparison prices include 8GB models. Therefore, subtracting these figures would not give a fair, current price difference between matched variants.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteFor a decision today, check the same RAM and storage tier for both phones on the same date. Compare the payable price after separating bank discounts, coupons and exchange offers; do not treat a conditional offer as the standard price. Xiaomi’s India store listing is the source for the observed Redmi price, not a promise that it remains available.

Which phone makes more sense for your priorities?
Choose by battery and charging specifications
The Redmi SE lists a 5800mAh typical battery and 45W charging, compared with the M36’s 5000mAh typical battery and 25W support. Those numbers make the Redmi the stronger fit on paper if battery capacity and charging rate are priorities. They do not establish screen-on time, endurance, heat, or charging duration; no controlled head-to-head results are available here.

Choose by camera features, not megapixel totals
Samsung lists three rear cameras, including an 8MP additional camera, and OIS. That stabilization can matter when choosing a phone for steadier capture, but the specifications alone do not show which device produces better photos or video. Xiaomi lists a 50MP + 2MP rear pair and 4K rear recording. For selfies, Xiaomi lists a higher-resolution 20MP front camera, while Samsung’s launch announcement says the M36 can record 4K from both front and rear cameras; Xiaomi lists front video up to 1080p/30fps. Match the listed recording modes to what you actually shoot rather than treating megapixels or lens count as a quality score.
Choose by software support and expandability
Samsung’s stated commitment is six generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Samsung notes that update timing and content may change. Xiaomi lists HyperOS 3 based on Android 15, but the cited specifications do not state a comparable duration for future updates. Verify the current update status for the specific handset before buying. Xiaomi lists microSD expansion up to 1TB, subject to card compatibility; the M36 comparison material lists 128GB and 256GB internal variants.

Choose by screen shape and protection claims
The Redmi has a slightly larger, curved 6.77-inch display; the M36 is listed with a 6.7-inch-class display. Consider whether you prefer a curved screen or a conventional flat form, and check each model in person if edge feel or accidental touches matter. Samsung names Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. Xiaomi lists IP65 and IP66 laboratory ratings and cautions that water resistance can deteriorate. These are different protection claims, not a directly comparable guarantee against damage.
Account for the charger
Samsung states that its 25W charger is sold separately, so include a compatible charger in your total cost if you need one. Xiaomi lists an adapter in the package contents, with a regional variation caveat; check the box contents for the exact India listing you intend to buy.

Verdict
On listed specifications, the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G is more aligned with buyers who want the larger stated battery, higher charging rate, microSD expansion or a higher-resolution selfie camera. The Galaxy M36 5G is more aligned with buyers who value rear-camera OIS, a third rear camera, Samsung’s stated long software-support commitment, or Samsung ecosystem features. The right choice depends on those trade-offs and the same-day price for matched memory variants; available price evidence does not support a reliable numeric gap.
