Galaxy M36: prioritize resolution and panel type
Samsung lists a Super AMOLED display with 1080 × 2340 resolution and refresh rates up to 120Hz. It is the more suitable specification set if you value a sharper image and AMOLED rather than the highest refresh-rate figure.

realme P4R: prioritize refresh rate and screen size
realme lists a 6.8-inch LCD with HD+ resolution and a maximum 144Hz refresh rate. That higher refresh-rate ceiling may appeal if smooth motion is your priority, but it does not make the lower 720 × 1570 resolution equivalent to the M36’s FHD+ screen. realme also advertises peak brightness of 1,200 nits; this is a manufacturer claim, not an independent measurement.

Battery capacity and charging: P4R has the larger figures
realme specifies an 8,000mAh battery and 45W charging for the P4R. Samsung lists a 5,000mAh typical battery capacity for the M36. The P4R therefore has the larger stated capacity, but these numbers do not prove how long either phone lasts in everyday use: screen settings, signal conditions, apps, and workload all affect endurance. The available information here does not establish a directly comparable battery-life test.
Camera comparison: more choices on the M36
The M36’s listed rear setup includes a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP camera. The P4R is listed with a single 50MP rear camera, without an ultrawide or macro camera in the comparison data. Choose the M36 if having an ultrawide option or listed optical image stabilization matters to you. These specifications do not establish which phone takes better photos; megapixel counts alone are not a quality score. The front-camera resolutions listed are 13MP for the M36 and 8MP for the P4R, which likewise do not guarantee a particular result.

Software support: one commitment is clearer in the cited information
Samsung’s product page lists security updates for the M36 through December 31, 2031. The realme India page identifies the P4R’s realme UI 7.0 as based on Android 16 but does not state a support duration in the cited product information. A secondary comparison reports two years of OS updates and three years of security updates for the P4R; confirm that policy with realme before relying on it for a long-term purchase. The evidence is not equally specific, so it does not support a firm like-for-like support comparison.

India price difference: compare the same variant and seller
On October 7, 2026, 91mobiles showed Amazon listing prices of ₹23,157 for the Galaxy M36 and ₹20,199 for the realme P4R, a ₹2,958 gap in favor of the P4R. Gadgets 360 also showed a ₹20,199 starting price for the P4R that day. These are marketplace snapshots, not fixed prices or necessarily identical memory variants.

A Smartprix comparison marked last updated September 16, 2026 showed different amounts: ₹21,999 for the M36 and ₹19,997 for the P4R. That earlier snapshot illustrates why an undated “current price” can mislead. - Choose the realme P4R if its 8,000mAh stated battery capacity, 144Hz maximum refresh rate, and lower dated listing matter more to you, and you are comfortable with an HD+ LCD and a single listed rear camera.
These recommendations are based on published specifications and dated price listings, not hands-on testing of both phones. Gadgets 360’s review summary describes the P4R’s battery life positively while noting limitations involving its LCD, demanding-use performance, and camera; those are that outlet’s reported impressions, not a direct comparison with the M36.
