The better choice depends on which of those differences matters most—and on current stock and price, which can change.

Which phone has the better display?
Choose the Galaxy M34 for AMOLED
The M34’s 6.5-inch Super AMOLED panel is smaller, but its panel type is the key distinction. Samsung specifies Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness up to 1,000 nits. It also lists Gorilla Glass 5 protection. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements of viewing quality.

Choose the vivo T4x for screen size
The T4x has a larger 6.72-inch LCD with 2408 × 1080 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. vivo lists 1,050 nits HBM brightness. That figure is a high-brightness-mode specification, so it should not be treated as directly identical to Samsung’s peak-brightness figure. The bigger screen may suit readers who prefer more display area; it does not make the LCD automatically better than the M34’s AMOLED.

Galaxy M34: more documented camera options
Samsung lists a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultrawide camera with a 120-degree field of view and a 13MP front camera. The comparison database also lists a 2MP macro camera. OIS is a hardware feature that helps steady the main camera; it does not by itself establish which phone takes better photos.

vivo T4x: simpler rear-camera setup
vivo lists a 50MP autofocus main camera and a 2MP bokeh/depth camera, plus an 8MP front camera. The M34 therefore has more documented lens variety and a higher stated selfie-camera resolution. Megapixel counts and camera features alone do not establish image quality, and no cited controlled photo test settles which phone produces better results.
Battery capacity and charging: what the figures say
The T4x has the higher listed capacity: 6,500mAh typical, with 6,360mAh rated, compared with the M34’s 6,000mAh typical capacity. vivo rates the T4x for up to 44W FlashCharge; Samsung lists 25W charging support for the M34. These figures give the T4x an advantage on paper for capacity and charging rate, but they do not guarantee longer real-world battery life or a particular charge time. Usage, software, charger and other conditions affect results.

One comparison page reports PCMark battery-test results of 14 hours 11 minutes for the T4x and 14 hours 52 minutes for the M34. Those are 91mobiles’ publisher-reported measurements, not universal endurance figures. The page’s methodology and test conditions should be checked before treating the results as directly comparable or repeatable. See the 91mobiles comparison.

Performance and software support
Samsung identifies the M34’s chipset as the 5nm Exynos 1280; vivo lists the T4x with the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 5G. The T4x is the newer model and has the newer listed chipset, but those specifications alone do not predict how every app or game will perform.

91mobiles reports Geekbench multi-core scores of 2,827 for the T4x and 2,036 for the M34. These are results reported by that publisher, not a guarantee of performance in daily use; test conditions and methodology matter. See the 91mobiles comparison.
Samsung’s launch announcement specified up to four generations of OS upgrades and up to five years of security updates. The official vivo specifications page lists Android 15 and Funtouch OS 15 but does not provide a like-for-like support-duration promise. That absence on the consulted page is not proof that vivo provides no updates. For a used or older-stock M34, verify its current software status and remaining support rather than assuming the full launch-era period is still ahead.

What is the price difference in India?
Samsung’s July 2023 introductory prices were ₹16,999 for the 6GB/128GB M34 and ₹18,999 for the 8GB/128GB model, with select bank cards. These are historical launch offers, not current prices. Samsung Newsroom India.
At the time of the cited 91mobiles listing snapshot, the vivo T4x was shown at ₹16,999 on Flipkart, while the M34 was listed at ₹13,999 and marked out of stock; the comparison page showed no available store for the M34 in its compare-prices section. This is a volatile listing snapshot, not a reliable current price gap. Check the comparison listing.

Before buying, compare the same RAM and storage variant and verify seller, stock, delivery location and bank offers.
