Which display is better for you?
The Redmi has the higher listed resolution: its 2712 × 1220 panel is 1.5K, compared with the vivo’s listed 1080 × 2392 resolution. That gives the Redmi more pixels to render text and fine detail, while the vivo’s 6.77-inch screen is larger diagonally than the Redmi’s 6.67-inch screen. Both are listed at up to 120Hz.

Choose based on what you notice most: a sharper image on the Redmi or a larger viewing area on the vivo. Resolution and refresh rate are specifications, not a guarantee of overall display quality; brightness and other comparable measurements are not established by the cited listings.
Camera differences: more selfie resolution on vivo, more rear-camera flexibility on paper
On the listed hardware, the V40e has a 50MP front camera, while the Redmi has a 20MP front camera. The Redmi’s rear setup includes three cameras—a 50MP main, 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro—whereas Smartprix lists the V40e with a 50MP main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide.

These specifications show different camera configurations, not which phone takes better photos or video. Megapixel counts alone do not establish detail, colour, low-light performance or video quality. Xiaomi lists rear video recording up to 4K at 30fps or 24fps; the cited V40e comparison does not provide an equivalent video specification. There is no comparable independent camera test in the available sources, so treat image-quality claims as unproven here.
Battery capacity and charging: one documented advantage
Both phones are listed with 5500mAh batteries, but capacity alone does not tell you how long either lasts in everyday use. Xiaomi specifies 45W TurboCharge for the Redmi and says a 45W adapter is included. The cited Smartprix listing does not securely establish the V40e’s charging rate, so it cannot support a charging-speed comparison. No comparable battery-life test is available in these sources.

Software, durability and other listed details
Updates and Android versions
Xiaomi lists the Redmi with Android 14 and HyperOS and publishes a commitment of three years of software updates plus four years of security updates. Smartprix lists Android 14 for the V40e, but the cited comparison does not establish its update commitment. Check the manufacturers’ current support information before buying if update duration is decisive.
Durability and connectivity
Xiaomi lists an IP68 rating for the Redmi, along with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, dual nano-SIM, a weight of 190g and an included protective case. These are manufacturer-listed details, not independent durability or audio test results. The cited V40e comparison does not provide equivalent details for a complete comparison.

Price difference: compare current, matching listings
Comparison pages show different India price snapshots, rather than a dependable, permanent price gap. Smartprix reported lowest prices of ₹21,999 for the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G and ₹29,999 for the V40e—an ₹8,000 difference on that page, which it marked as updated September 13, 2026. Those figures are a dated comparison-page observation, not a verified live checkout quote or a manufacturer-set price.
A 91mobiles comparison result displayed ₹26,999 for the Redmi and ₹33,999 for the V40e among columns that also included another handset and multiple configurations. The context does not establish that those figures are for matching RAM and storage variants. The different snapshots illustrate why a simple price difference can mislead.

Before comparing value, verify the exact model name, RAM and storage, seller, warranty terms and price at checkout. Xiaomi lists 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB versions of the Redmi; do not assume a comparison page’s prices refer to the same configuration. The cited sources do not establish a live, like-for-like price for both phones.
Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G if
- You value the higher listed display resolution over a slightly larger diagonal screen.
- You want Xiaomi’s listed IP68 rating and its documented 45W charging with an in-box adapter.
- You want the listed three-year software-update and four-year security-update commitment.
- Its current price for the storage configuration you need is lower than the comparable V40e listing.
Consider the vivo V40e if
- You prefer the larger 6.77-inch display.
- A 50MP front-camera specification is more relevant to your needs than the Redmi’s 20MP front camera.
- The price premium for the exact configuration is acceptable to you.
These are choices based on published specifications, not a performance, camera or battery-life verdict. The vivo V40e specifications cited here are from a comparison listing rather than an official vivo India specifications page; verify the exact model and configuration with the seller before purchasing. For Xiaomi’s listed Redmi specifications, see Xiaomi India. The dated comparison snapshots are available from Smartprix and 91mobiles.
