The Galaxy F17 5G is the better fit if you want a sharper Super AMOLED display, optical image stabilization and a slimmer body. The Galaxy F70e 5G offers a 120Hz screen, a larger stated battery and a lower headline launch price for matching memory configurations in India. At launch, the listed gap was ₹1,500 in the F70e’s favor, but Samsung described the prices differently and they are not verified current retail prices.

Which display is better?
The F17 has the stronger resolution-and-panel specification: Samsung describes its screen as Full HD+ Super AMOLED. The F70e trades resolution and AMOLED for a stated maximum refresh rate of 120Hz on an HD+ PLS LCD. Higher refresh rates can make supported scrolling and animations look smoother, while the F17’s higher stated resolution means a sharper image on paper. Which matters more depends on what you notice and use; neither specification alone establishes the better overall display.
Camera differences: OIS versus a simpler rear setup
The F17 has a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), plus ultra-wide and macro cameras. OIS helps counter some camera movement, but the specifications do not prove how the two phones perform in real photos or video. The F70e lists a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth camera, and Samsung’s product page says its rear camera does not have OIS. The F17 also has a higher stated front-camera resolution—13MP versus 8MP—but megapixels alone do not determine selfie quality.

Battery, size and durability
Samsung lists a typical 6000mAh battery for the F70e and 5000mAh for the F17; both support 25W charging. The larger stated capacity gives the F70e an advantage on paper, not a guaranteed runtime. Samsung’s F70e launch announcement claims up to two days of battery life; that is the manufacturer’s claim, not a comparable independent test.
The F17 is thinner and lighter on Samsung’s figures: 7.5mm and 192g, compared with 8.2mm and 199g for the F70e. Both carry an IP54 rating, which indicates protection against dust and splashes, not suitability for immersion. Samsung warns that the F17’s protection can diminish over time and advises against beach or pool use. The F17 lists Gorilla Glass Victus; the F70e is distinguished by its leather-finish design.

India launch prices and the ₹1,500 difference
The figures below are launch-period prices announced by Samsung India, not current offers or verified checkout prices. Samsung called the F17 figures introductory prices and mentioned cashback separately; it labeled the F70e amounts net effective prices including bank cashback. The different price descriptions mean the headline amounts should not be treated as directly equivalent transaction prices.

Software support: the listed security dates
Samsung announced six Android generations and six years of security updates for the F17, and six years of OS and security updates for the F70e. The product pages list security-update coverage through 30 September 2031 for the F17 and 31 January 2032 for the F70e. Those are the dates shown on Samsung’s India product pages, which may be updated; check the live pages for the current support information.

- Choose the F17 if you prioritize Full HD+ Super AMOLED, an OIS-equipped main camera with ultra-wide and macro lenses, or a thinner and lighter body.
- Choose the F70e if you prefer a 120Hz refresh rate, a higher stated battery capacity, a leather-finish design, or its later listed security-update end date.
- Compare current prices carefully if cost is decisive: the ₹1,500 launch gap applies to matching 4GB/128GB and 6GB/128GB headline figures, but the price labels and cashback treatment differ.
There is no evidence here for a definitive real-world speed or photo-quality winner. The processor names, camera specifications and battery capacities are useful for narrowing a choice, not substitutes for comparable tests.
