For Indian buyers, the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G is the stronger pick for a sharper display, an optically stabilized main camera and a clearly stated long-term update commitment. The moto g37 power is the battery-focused option, with Motorola advertising a 7,000mAh battery. There is no dependable single price gap: listed prices vary by seller, date and memory configuration, so compare the same variant before buying.

Which display is better for everyday use?
The A17 has the more clearly specified screen: Samsung says it uses a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED panel. The Moto is described by comparison listings as having a similarly sized HD+ LCD and a higher refresh rate. On the listed specifications, the A17 has the advantage in resolution and display type, while the Moto may offer smoother motion if the listing’s refresh-rate detail is accurate. Choose the A17 if text clarity, video and contrast matter more; consider the Moto’s listed refresh rate if scrolling smoothness is your priority.

Motorola advertises a 7,000mAh battery for the moto g37 power, compared with Samsung’s listed 5,000mAh capacity for the A17. That makes the Moto the more battery-focused choice on paper, but capacity alone cannot tell you how many hours either phone lasts: no independent, comparable battery-runtime test is established here. Samsung lists 25W charging for the A17; Moto charging details vary across secondary listings, so verify the exact regional model’s official specifications before relying on a charging-speed comparison.

Camera and stabilization
Samsung specifies a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), alongside a 5MP ultra-wide and a macro camera. OIS can help reduce blur from hand movement, particularly in still photos, but it does not guarantee better results in every scene. The reviewed sources do not establish a sufficiently consistent Moto camera specification or comparable image testing, so a megapixel-only winner would be misleading.
Software updates and durability
Samsung states that the Galaxy A17 5G will receive six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates. These are Samsung’s stated commitments, not independently measured outcomes. Samsung also lists IP54 protection and front Gorilla Glass Victus. The available Motorola product information did not provide a readable full specification sheet, and third-party Moto update and IP claims were not confirmed from an official source; check Motorola’s current regional product details if these features are decisive.

India prices: why a fixed price difference can mislead
Indian listing prices are volatile and may refer to different RAM and storage variants. Motorola India’s catalog displayed an MRP of ₹26,499 and a listed price of ₹19,999 for a moto g37 power listing on 7 October 2026. Smartprix showed comparison prices of ₹17,132 for the Moto and ₹19,499 for the A17 on a page marked last updated 13 September 2026. Other comparison pages showed different figures, including A17 listings around ₹22,699–₹22,949 and Moto listings around ₹14,939–₹17,132. These are snapshots from different listings, not a like-for-like guaranteed price gap.

Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy A17 5G if the sharper AMOLED display, OIS-equipped main camera and Samsung’s stated update commitment matter most.
- Consider the moto g37 power if you prioritize the advertised 7,000mAh battery and find a price that is lower for the same memory tier.
- Verify before paying if your choice depends on Moto chipset, charging, display refresh rate, weight, launch date or durability: secondary listings conflict on some of these details, and the accessible Motorola product page does not expose a full spec sheet.
Why some Moto specifications need checking
Comparison sites disagree on the moto g37 power chipset: Gadgets Now lists Dimensity 6400, while Gadgets360 and 91mobiles list Dimensity 6300. Listings also differ on some secondary specifications, including weight, refresh rate and charging. Rather than treating one listing as definitive, check Motorola’s India product information for the exact variant being sold. The Motorola product page is here; the conflicting secondary entries can be seen at Gadgets Now, Gadgets360 and 91mobiles.
