The Samsung Galaxy A57 5G is the better fit if you want a larger 6.7-inch screen; the Google Pixel 10a is more compact at 6.3 inches and adds Qi wireless charging. Google also promises one more year of software updates. Neither phone is an automatic value winner: Samsung announced a US starting price of $549.99, while Google announced a $499 US launch price and its store showed $524 on October 7, 2026. Those are different kinds of price snapshots, so compare current offers for the same storage and market before buying.

How the price difference changes the decision
The headline price gap depends on which dates and prices you compare. Samsung’s $549.99 figure is its US starting price announcement from March 25, 2026. Google’s $499 figure was its US launch price announced February 18, 2026. The Google Store listing observed October 7, 2026 was $524, which makes the apparent gap smaller against Samsung’s announced starting price—but that is not a like-for-like live-price comparison.

Before deciding which phone is the better deal, check both offers in your country and compare the same storage capacity. Regional models, promotions, availability, and retailer pricing can change. The evidence here does not establish a current, matched retailer price for both phones, so it cannot support a definitive price-value winner.

Which screen size and display suit you?
Choose the Galaxy A57 for a larger viewing area
Samsung lists a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED+ display with a refresh rate up to 120Hz. That larger panel is the more natural fit if you prioritize a spacious screen for reading, video, or working across apps, and do not mind a bigger handset.

Choose the Pixel 10a for a smaller phone and a stated brightness figure
Google lists a 6.3-inch 1080 × 2424 pOLED Actua display with a 60–120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,000 nits peak brightness. That makes the Pixel the smaller-screen option, while Google’s brightness specification is a useful point of comparison. It is a manufacturer-listed peak figure, not a direct side-by-side brightness test.
Android Central reports peak brightness of 1,900 nits for the A57, but that figure is secondary-source reporting rather than the Samsung US specification excerpt cited here. Do not treat the two peak-brightness numbers as a controlled comparison of real-world visibility.

Battery capacity, wired charging, and wireless charging
Google lists a typical 5,100mAh battery for the Pixel 10a. For the A57, Android Central reports 5,000mAh. Capacity alone does not show how long either phone lasts: actual battery life depends on use and conditions, and the cited material does not establish a controlled battery-life comparison.

Performance, memory, and storage
Google lists the Pixel 10a with a Tensor G4 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of storage. Android Central reports that the A57 uses an Exynos 1680 and comes in 8GB or 12GB RAM configurations. Confirm the exact local model and storage before buying, since configurations can vary by market.
These chipset names and memory options do not establish which phone is faster. The available sources do not provide a controlled performance benchmark comparing the two models, so a speed winner cannot be named from the specifications alone.

Software support: Pixel’s stated period is longer
Google says the Pixel 10a will receive seven years of software updates. Samsung promises up to six generations of OS upgrades and long-term security support for the Galaxy A57. On the stated support periods available here, Google’s promise is one year longer. The wording is not identical—Google describes years of software updates, while Samsung specifies OS-upgrade generations plus security support—so consider both the length and the type of support each company describes.

Google lists a 48MP wide and 13MP ultrawide rear camera system for the Pixel 10a. Android Central reports a 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, and 5MP macro setup for the A57. The A57 therefore has an additional listed macro camera, but camera count and megapixel totals do not prove which phone takes better photos.

Quick Recap
Which one should you buy?
- Pick the Galaxy A57 5G if a larger 6.7-inch screen is your priority, or if your local offer makes it the better buy after matching storage and checking current prices.
- Pick the Pixel 10a if you prefer a 6.3-inch display, want Qi wireless charging, or place more weight on Google’s stated seven-year update period.
- Compare both carefully if your main concern is speed, battery life, or camera quality: the cited specifications do not establish a tested winner in those areas.
