Which phone has the better display?
Both phones have 120Hz AMOLED displays. Nothing’s panel is slightly larger and has the higher listed resolution: 2720 × 1224 versus 1080 × 2340 on the A57. That gives the Phone (4a) the stronger specification-sheet case if screen size and pixel count are priorities. These figures do not by themselves establish brightness, color accuracy, or outdoor visibility.

How do their cameras differ?
Nothing Phone (4a): a dedicated zoom camera
The Phone (4a) has a 50MP periscope camera with 3.5× optical zoom, alongside its 50MP main and 8MP ultrawide cameras. A dedicated optical-zoom lens is useful when photographing distant subjects, without relying only on digital cropping. TechRadar’s reviewer found the 3.5× range useful but reported that some long-distance results were unclear; that is a review observation, not a guarantee of every user’s results.

Samsung Galaxy A57: macro instead of telephoto
The A57’s listed rear cameras are a 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, and 5MP macro. The reviewed specification summary does not list a dedicated telephoto camera, so it is the less obvious choice if optical reach is essential. Its macro camera serves a different purpose: close-up subjects rather than distant ones.
Which is lighter, and what do the battery figures mean?
The A57 is 25.5g lighter and 1.7mm thinner according to the cited specifications, making it the more compact-feeling option on paper. The Phone (4a) is slightly taller, wider, and thicker.

Which should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy A57 if lower weight and thickness, Samsung’s software ecosystem, its stated update commitment, or a macro camera matter most.
- Choose the Nothing Phone (4a) if you want a dedicated periscope camera with 3.5× optical zoom or prefer the larger, higher-resolution listed screen.
- Decide on price only after checking same-country listings for equivalent RAM and storage. The available figures do not establish a universal price winner.
Neither a processor specification nor battery capacity settles real-world speed or endurance; use matched independent tests if those are the deciding factors.
