What is the price difference in India?
A dependable current price gap cannot be stated from the available figures. Samsung’s M56 launch announcement described the phone as “Under ₹ 30000,” but that was launch positioning, not a current price or a matched comparison with the A55. Check live India listings for the same RAM and storage capacity, seller, stock status and date; account separately for bank discounts, exchange offers and any bundle. The 45 W M56 charger is sold separately according to Samsung, so include its cost if you need one. Samsung’s M56 launch announcement
Where the M56 has an advantage
Faster specified charging
Samsung specifies 45 W charging for the M56, while the A55 page describes Super Fast Charging without giving a matching wattage in the cited specification. The M56 therefore has the clearer stated wired-charging advantage, but its compatible 45 W charger may be an additional purchase.

Newer release and a larger screen
The M56 arrived in April 2025, after the A55’s 2024 launch. Its display diagonal is 17.11 cm compared with the A55’s 16.83 cm. Samsung also advertises brightness and bezel improvements for the M56 against its stated comparison basis; those vendor claims are not an independent measurement of how the two screens compare in every condition.
Lighter, slimmer body
Samsung’s cited figures make the M56 33 g lighter and 1 mm thinner than the A55. That may matter if you prefer a lighter phone, but the figures do not establish which device is more resistant to drops.

- Choose the A55 if you want the listed 32 MP front camera, stereo support, or explicitly documented microSD expansion up to 1 TB.
- Compare offers before deciding if price is the main factor: match RAM and storage, then compare the final price after discounts and any charger purchase.
