The Galaxy S24 FE is the better fit if you want a dedicated telephoto camera, a larger higher-tier display, an IP68 rating, or Samsung’s longer stated software-support period. The Galaxy A35 5G is worth considering if microSD expansion or its higher stated battery capacity matters more. Which costs less today depends on your market and current offers: Samsung’s available U.S. list-price records are from different dates, not a live, same-date comparison.

Galaxy A35 vs S24 FE: key specifications

The figures below come mainly from Samsung’s UK product pages, except where noted. Configurations and availability can differ by region.

Software support stated by Samsung Up to 4 generations of Android OS upgrades and up to 5 years of security updates 7 generations of OS upgrades and 7 years of security updates from global launch
Storage expansion The cited UK specification lists microSD support up to 1 TB Samsung UK lists 128 GB and 256 GB internal options; expandable storage is not listed

Specifications alone do not establish real-world speed, photo quality or battery life. Samsung’s listed processor cores and clock speeds are not a substitute for comparable testing, and camera resolution does not determine which phone takes better pictures.

Which has the better display?

Both cited models have FHD+ resolution and refresh rates up to 120 Hz. The S24 FE has a slightly larger 6.7-inch panel and Samsung’s Dynamic AMOLED 2X label; the A35 has a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED panel. If screen size and display tier are priorities, the S24 FE has the spec-sheet advantage, but the shared resolution and refresh-rate ceiling mean the basic figures do not tell the whole story about viewing experience.

Camera difference: the S24 FE adds optical zoom

Galaxy S24 FE

The S24 FE has a dedicated 8 MP telephoto camera and 3× optical zoom, alongside a 50 MP main and 12 MP ultrawide camera. Samsung also lists optical-quality 2× zoom and digital zoom up to 30×. The telephoto lens is the clearest hardware distinction if you often photograph distant subjects.

Galaxy A35 5G

The A35’s listed rear cameras are a 50 MP main, 8 MP ultrawide and 5 MP macro camera. Samsung lists digital zoom up to 10×, not a dedicated telephoto lens. Its front camera is listed at 13 MP versus 10 MP on the S24 FE, but megapixel counts alone do not show which front camera produces better results.

  • The Galaxy S24 FE packs a large 6.7‑inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate, enhanced brightness and a “Vision Booster” mode — ideal for clear, bright visuals even outdoors.

Battery: capacity is not the same as endurance

Samsung lists a typical capacity of 5,000 mAh for the A35 and 4,700 mAh for the S24 FE. That makes the A35’s nominal capacity higher, but it does not prove longer use between charges.

Samsung’s A35 page reports an up-to-two-day estimate based on an assessment by UX Connect Research in the UK from January 11 to January 20, 2024. The assessment used pre-release SM-A356 units under default settings on LTE and 5G Sub6; Samsung says the estimate was not tested on 5G mmWave and that actual results vary. Samsung’s Spain page lists up to 28 hours of video playback for the S24 FE. Those are different claims and measurement contexts, so they are not a controlled head-to-head battery comparison.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE, 128GB, Blue - Unlocked (Renewed)
  • The Galaxy S24 FE packs a large 6.7‑inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate, enhanced brightness and a “Vision Booster” mode — ideal for clear, bright visuals even outdoors.

Storage: microSD may make the A35 more flexible

The cited Samsung UK A35 specification lists microSD expansion up to 1 TB. Samsung UK lists the S24 FE with 128 GB and 256 GB internal-storage options and does not list microSD support. If removable storage matters, check the exact regional A35 SKU before buying; the cited expansion specification is for the UK page.

Durability: IP68 on the S24 FE, IP67 on the A35

Samsung’s launch materials give the S24 FE an IP68 rating. The cited A35 page lists IP67 and describes testing in fresh water up to 1 metre deep for as long as 30 minutes, while advising against beach or pool use. These ratings describe test conditions, not a promise that either phone is waterproof; exposure, wear and regional product terms can matter.

Software support: the S24 FE has the longer stated commitment

Samsung states that the A35 is eligible for up to four generations of Android OS upgrades and up to five years of security updates. For the S24 FE, Samsung announced seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from global launch. The S24 FE therefore has the longer published support window. Samsung qualifies the A35 policy as subject to change and says feature timing may vary; update availability can also depend on market and schedule.

How much more is the S24 FE?

Samsung’s U.S. MSRP file from March 2025 lists the unlocked 128 GB A35 at $399.99 and marks it EOL in that file. A separate Samsung U.S. MSRP file from March 2026 lists the unlocked S24 FE at $649.99 for 128 GB and $709.99 for 256 GB. The difference between the two listed 128 GB amounts is $250, but it compares records from different dates. It is not a current retail price gap: it says nothing about today’s stock, discounts or equivalent availability.

For a useful current comparison, check listings in your country for the same storage capacity, device condition, carrier or unlocked status, and warranty. No live retailer price or inventory is established here.

Which is better for you: Galaxy A35 or S24 FE?

  • Choose the S24 FE if you want a dedicated telephoto camera with 3× optical zoom, the larger Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, an IP68 rating or Samsung’s longer stated update commitment.
  • Consider the A35 if microSD expansion is important or you prefer its higher stated typical battery capacity. The cited Samsung U.S. price record is historical, so compare current local offers rather than assuming it is cheaper today.
  • For either phone, match storage, condition, carrier status and warranty when comparing prices, and check regional specifications before purchase.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
