The A37 brings a slightly larger display, an upgraded stated main-camera resolution, an IP68 rating and a defined software-support commitment. Whether it is worth paying more now depends on current like-for-like offers and how much you value those changes.
UK price difference: £50 between like-for-like launch RRPs
Samsung’s UK launch materials list the 128GB/6GB Galaxy A34 5G at £349 in 2023 and the 128GB/6GB Galaxy A37 5G at £399 in 2026. That is a £50 difference between launch recommended retail prices, three years apart—not a current price comparison.

What changed in the display and cameras?
Display
The A37’s screen is 0.1 inch larger diagonally: 6.7 inches versus 6.6 inches. Both are FHD+ Super AMOLED panels, and Samsung lists up to 120Hz for the A34 while describing Vision Booster for the A37. The available specifications show a modest size increase, not evidence of a dramatic change in screen quality.
Rear cameras
The A37 raises the stated resolution of the optically stabilised main camera from 48MP to 50MP. The ultrawide and macro cameras remain 8MP and 5MP respectively. Resolution alone does not show which phone takes better photographs; no direct A34-versus-A37 image-quality test is established here.

- 【Upgraded Scratch-Resistant and Durable Materials】This Galaxy A34 magnetic phone case uses an innovative composite material structure: the back panel is made of hard, semi-transparent frosted PC, offering strong scratch resistance and effectively preventing daily wear and fingerprints; the frame uses flexible TPU, providing excellent impact resistance and cushioning.
- 【Built-in Strong Magnetic Function】A strong magnetic ring is built into the case, preventing the phone from falling off even when shaken during charging. The precise magnetic design makes wireless charging faster and more stable, and it can also seamlessly connect and hold magnetic car mounts, wallets, and other accessories securely, suitable for various everyday scenarios.
- 【All-Around Lens and Screen Protection】Featuring a full-coverage design, the phone screen and camera area receive priority protection. The camera area has a raised 1.2mm protective frame, and the screen's edges are also raised to the same height, ensuring that critical parts are kept away from contact surfaces when the phone is laid flat, effectively preventing scratches and bumps. The full-coverage lens frame design further isolates the phone from dust and accidental damage.
- 【Comfortable Grip, Multi-Layer Protection】This Galaxy A34 5G phone case features an ergonomic design at the edges, fitting comfortably in the palm of your hand for a natural and comfortable grip. It's lightweight yet durable. The included high-definition scratch-resistant screen protector adds another layer of protection.
Battery, charging and durability
Battery and charging
Samsung lists a typical 5,000mAh battery for both phones. That shared capacity does not demonstrate equal battery life: actual endurance depends on network conditions, settings, apps and use. Samsung says the A37 can reach 60% charge in 30 minutes with Super Fast Charging 2.0; this is a manufacturer figure, not an independent test.
Dust and water resistance
The A34 is rated IP67 and the A37 IP68. These are different ingress-protection ratings, not guarantees that either phone is waterproof or immune to water damage. Samsung specifies freshwater laboratory conditions for the A37 and warns that resistance can diminish with normal wear.

Software support: the clearest long-term distinction
Samsung’s UK A37 product page promises up to six OS upgrades and up to six years of security updates. The sources cited here do not establish a comparable support commitment for the A34, so its remaining update life should not be inferred solely from its 2023 launch date. Buyers who intend to keep a phone for several years have a clearly stated support duration to consider with the A37.

The £50 launch-RRP gap is historical; it does not tell you how much more the A37 costs in UK shops now. Compare the actual prices for the same storage tier and check the seller, condition and warranty, particularly if an A34 offer is refurbished or used.
