To remove a SIM card from a Samsung Galaxy A12, insert the supplied SIM ejector pin straight into the small hole beside the SIM tray, pull the tray out gently, lift out the card, then align and push the tray fully back into its slot. Make sure the tray is dry before reinserting it.
Find the SIM tray and eject hole
Locate the SIM tray on the side of the phone and identify the small eject hole beside it. Use the opening next to the tray—not another opening on the phone. Samsung’s Galaxy A12 device-layout instructions say to insert the ejection pin into the hole next to the tray to loosen it.

Remove the SIM card
- Insert the pin: Hold the SIM ejector pin perpendicular to the eject hole and push it in gently until the tray loosens. Samsung’s SIM or USIM card handling guidance also advises keeping the pin perpendicular to the hole.
- Pull out the tray: Draw the loosened tray gently from the slot. Do not yank it.
- Lift out the card: Remove the SIM from the tray. If you are replacing it, follow the tray’s layout to position the new card.
- Reinsert the tray: Check that the tray is dry, align it with its slot, and push it all the way back into the phone.
Check your A12 model and SIM size
SIM configurations can vary by market and model, so do not assume every Galaxy A12 uses the same tray arrangement. Samsung India identifies its regional A12 configuration as a single nano-SIM. Samsung’s support catalog lists manuals for both the SM-A125 and SM-A127 families; if your tray layout differs, check the manual for your exact model and market. The regional manuals are available from Samsung India’s SM-A125F support page and Samsung UK’s SM-A127F support page.

If you have lost the ejector pin
A SIM ejector pin is the appropriate tool; a compatible SIM card removal tool can serve as a replacement. Samsung’s instructions specify an ejection pin and do not validate improvised sharp objects. Avoid using a blade or needle, which could damage the phone or injure you.

If the tray will not release
- Confirm that you are pressing the eject hole beside the SIM tray.
- Keep the pin straight and apply gentle pressure rather than twisting or levering it.
- If the tray does not loosen, stop. Do not force it or pry at its edge; the cited Samsung guidance does not provide an A12-specific stuck-tray repair procedure.
- Ask Samsung support or a repair professional for help if the tray remains stuck or appears damaged.
