You can’t transfer photos and videos from Samsung Gallery to Samsung Cloud: Samsung says device backups in Samsung Cloud do not include Gallery media. The former Gallery sync with Microsoft OneDrive ended on September 30, 2026. To retrieve photos already synced through that feature, download them from OneDrive; to upload new photos to OneDrive, use Camera backup in the OneDrive app.
Why Samsung Cloud will not back up Gallery photos
Samsung’s US guidance on accessing device backups in Samsung Cloud says Gallery photos and videos are not included in those backups. Samsung previously offered Gallery sync through Microsoft OneDrive, but that service ended on September 30, 2026, according to Samsung’s discontinuation notice. Older instructions for enabling Gallery sync are historical, not a route to a working service.

Get photos already synced with Gallery onto your device
Samsung says media previously synced through Gallery remains in OneDrive and can still be accessed with the OneDrive app. To save a cloud original locally:

- Open the OneDrive app and find the photo or video.
- Select the file and choose Download.
- For multiple files, select the items you want and download them. OneDrive can save only as many as fit in the device’s available storage.
You can also leave the files in OneDrive to keep accessing them there. Samsung’s instructions for photos previously synced with OneDrive cover downloading and deleting those files.

Back up new photos to OneDrive
For ongoing uploads, turn on Camera backup in the OneDrive app. Samsung’s OneDrive guidance for Samsung phones and tablets points to this option. It is a one-way camera-upload workflow, not the former Gallery sync: do not assume edits or deletions will mirror between Gallery and OneDrive as they did under the discontinued integration.
