TechRadar reported that Amazon listed the 2TB Samsung 9100 PRO for $399.99, down from $679.97, in a deal article last updated October 5, 2026. That is a $279.98 reduction, or about 41% based on those reported prices. The report also said other capacities were discounted, but did not give their prices. Check the Amazon listing for the current price, stock and offer terms before buying.
What the reported Samsung 9100 PRO deal includes
The quantified offer is for the 2TB model at Amazon: TechRadar reported $399.99 against a $679.97 reference price on October 5, 2026. Its reported $279.98 saving works out to about 41%. This is a dated deal report, not a confirmation that the same price or inventory remains available now.

TechRadar said 1TB, 4TB and 8TB versions were also discounted, but did not state their sale prices. The 41% figure therefore applies only to the reported 2TB offer; compare each capacity’s live price rather than assuming the same percentage cut. View the deal report and Amazon offer.

Samsung’s 2025 product announcement and datasheet list four capacities: 1TB, 2TB, 4TB and 8TB. Their rated speeds and endurance differ by capacity:

These are Samsung’s maximum ratings, not measured results for a particular computer. Samsung says performance can vary with firmware, system hardware and configuration. Will it reach its advertised speed in your PC?
The 9100 PRO is an M.2 2280 drive using PCIe 5.0 x4 and NVMe 2.0. Samsung lists backward compatibility with PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 3.0 x4, but a compatible older host will not provide PCIe 5.0 interface throughput. Actual speed also depends on the computer’s hardware and configuration.

- Check that your motherboard or device supports an M.2 2280 NVMe SSD and has a suitable M.2 slot.
- For the advertised PCIe 5.0 interface ceiling, the host must support PCIe 5.0 x4 for that slot.
- Confirm whether your system has its own M.2 cooling solution before choosing a heatsink version.

Check clearance before choosing the heatsink version
The heatsink model’s maximum height is 8.88 mm for 1TB–4TB capacities and 11.25 mm for the 8TB model. Samsung advises checking available space in the host device, which is especially important in compact systems or where nearby components constrain clearance. How to judge the discount across capacities
Since the deal report does not provide prices for every capacity, compare the live listing for the exact model you want. A useful check is the current price per terabyte alongside your storage needs, the capacity-specific ratings above, and any price reference shown by the retailer. Treat the 2TB report’s reference price as dated, not as proof of a current market-wide discount.
