AIForce is officially SIForce,” on October 9, four days after the White House ordered executive-branch agencies to use “Super Intelligence” and “SI” instead of “Artificial Intelligence” and “AI” in specified communications. The order does not require private companies to rename products. TheStreet reported the post and name change; the available evidence does not establish that the federal order caused Salesforce’s decision.
What Benioff reportedly said
TheStreet reported that Benioff wrote the 11-word message on X on Friday, October 9, 2026, announcing that AIForce was “officially SIForce.” The original post could not be accessed, and Salesforce confirmation was not found in the available primary material, so the wording and timing should be understood as TheStreet’s report rather than independently authenticated statements.

TheStreet’s timeline places the post 24 days after Salesforce unveiled AIforce at Dreamforce on September 15. Its September 18 coverage described AIforce as a connector for Salesforce data and workflows inside tools such as Claude and Slack. The report also described use of existing permissions and zero-data-retention claims. The reported rename does not, by itself, establish any change to features, price, or availability.
What the White House order actually requires
Executive Order 14434, “Inaugurating the Era of Super Intelligence,” is dated September 29, 2026. It directs executive-branch agencies, “to the maximum extent permitted by law,” to use “Super Intelligence” and “SI” in place of “Artificial Intelligence” and “AI” in official correspondence and other specified non-statutory communications. The order also directs officials to submit proposed legislative language within 60 days.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
That scope matters: the order sets terminology for covered federal communications. It does not tell private businesses what to call their products, nor does it make Salesforce’s reported renaming a legal requirement. The order’s precise scope and language are available in the White House text of Executive Order 14434.
Why a federal wording change could matter to vendors
A terminology policy can still have commercial significance without binding private companies. Businesses communicating with agencies or pursuing government work may decide that matching federal vocabulary makes presentations, documentation, or procurement conversations easier. That is a plausible incentive, not proof of what motivated this particular branding decision.

Salesforce has an established federal relationship: the General Services Administration announced an agreement with the company on May 19, 2025. The GSA announcement supports the existence of that relationship; it does not establish that the new order prompted the reported product-name change or that every agency is covered by the agreement.

It should not be treated as evidence that Salesforce acted under government direction.

What the reported poll says—and does not say
TheStreet cited a YouGov results page dated September 28, 2026, saying that 53% of 21,449 U.S. adults preferred the term “artificial intelligence,” while 9% preferred “super intelligence.” The figures should be attributed to TheStreet’s account: the accessible YouGov page did not expose the underlying results in the material available for verification. The reported figures suggest a gap in public familiarity or preference, but they do not explain Salesforce’s decision or show how customers will respond to the new name.
The YouGov results page is dated September 28, 2026. Until its underlying data can be inspected, the percentages are best treated as reported poll findings, not as independently confirmed figures.

What remains uncertain
- Causation: The sequence—an executive order on September 29 and a reported rename on October 9—does not prove that one caused the other.
- Product impact: The available coverage reports a name change, not a verified change to software capabilities, commercial terms, or release status.
- Company confirmation: The exact post and announcement remain attributed to TheStreet because the linked X post was inaccessible and no Salesforce primary confirmation was located.
- Market impact: The report cautioned that it was too early to attribute any share-price movement to the rename. The naming news alone is not evidence of a market effect.
Why this is a pressure signal, not a mandate
The significance is narrower than the headline might suggest. Federal agencies have been told to adopt a specific vocabulary in defined communications, and a company with government business has reportedly changed a product name to match it. That combination illustrates how political language can become relevant to corporate branding and procurement strategy. It does not establish a government order to private firms, a universal shift in industry terminology, or a confirmed explanation for Salesforce’s move.
