Yes, you can use Sage software in a hosted environment, but “Sage cloud hosting” describes several different arrangements. Sage Intacct is cloud-native finance software; Sage Partner Cloud moves selected existing ERP products to an accredited hosting platform; other products have their own hosting rules. The right choice depends on your exact Sage product and version, region, migration needs, and who will manage security, connectivity, backups, and recovery.
What does Sage cloud hosting mean?
It is not one uniform Sage product or deployment model. Depending on the software, it may mean adopting a cloud-native application, moving an existing ERP installation to a partner-managed platform, or installing a product on a cloud server managed by another provider. Sage’s cloud-solutions overview distinguishes its cloud software from hosting options for existing products.

Cloud-native software
Sage describes Sage Intacct as cloud-native finance software that can integrate with existing business tools. Moving to it is a product and workflow decision, not simply relocating an existing Sage installation. Check whether its features, integrations, and processes fit your business before treating it as a hosting migration.
Hosting an existing Sage product
With partner hosting, selected Sage software runs in an environment managed by an accredited hosting provider. This can preserve use of an existing product while changing where it runs and who operates the infrastructure. Eligibility and responsibilities depend on the product, version, partner, and region.

Which Sage products have hosting paths?
| Product or path | What Sage says | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Sage 100, Sage 300, Sage X3 | Sage’s US Partner Cloud page describes cloud deployment for these ERP products. Sage’s broader cloud page specifically highlights current Sage 100 and Sage 300 customers moving to an accredited hosting platform. Sage Partner Cloud; Sage cloud solutions | Confirm current product and version eligibility, partner accreditation, regional availability, and who handles implementation and ongoing support. |
| Sage BusinessWorks | Sage says BusinessWorks has no cloud version, but it can be installed on a cloud server. Remote users connecting through Remote Desktop must use Client Server Edition. The cloud host manages server connectivity. Sage BusinessWorks cloud-server guidance | Check the required edition for your access pattern and agree with the host who configures and maintains connectivity. Sage says it does not troubleshoot cloud-connectivity issues. |
| Sage Fixed Assets | Sage says the product can remain on premises or be hosted by a provider of choice. Sage identifies WebHouse hosting with AWS and Cisco technology, including multifactor authentication through Cisco Duo. Sage Fixed Assets hosting | Verify edition compatibility, which provider controls apply, administrative support, backup and recovery terms, and how you could move or exit later. |
| France-focused migration and hosting | Sage announced that it was acquiring Moovin’Cloud’s French migration and hosting business. Sage says its platform supports Sage 100, Sage 50, Batigest, and Génération Expert on Azure. Sage Investor Relations | Confirm French availability, supported product and version, post-acquisition service arrangements, migration scope, and contract terms. Sage has not announced additional markets. |

What security and resilience claims should you verify?
Sage says its cloud products receive 24/7 security monitoring by a dedicated cyber defense operations team. Its published cloud-security measures include Azure and AWS hosting, information about patches and updates, high availability, encryption, denial-of-service protection, threat monitoring, regular penetration testing, secure backups, and disaster recovery. These are Sage’s descriptions of its cloud services; they do not establish that every hosted Sage configuration receives identical controls, or that a particular customer’s backups have been restored successfully. Nor do they establish a contractual uptime or recovery target for your service. Ask the named provider to document which controls apply to your product, region, and configuration.
Clarify who owns each responsibility
- Identity and access: Ask who configures user access and multifactor authentication, and how access is removed when staff leave.
- Software and infrastructure: Establish who applies product updates and infrastructure patches, and how planned changes are communicated.
- Connectivity: Confirm who configures and maintains remote access, networks, and cloud-server connections. BusinessWorks guidance specifically assigns server connectivity to the host.
- Backups and recovery: Ask how often backups run, how restoration is tested, what recovery time and recovery point objectives are contractually committed, and who can initiate recovery.
- Incidents: Get the escalation route, notification process, and division of work between Sage, the hosting provider, and your own IT team.
How to compare hosts before migrating
Compare written proposals on the same scope rather than relying on a broad claim of flexibility, resilience, or savings. Sage’s materials do not provide a universal price list or comparable contract-level service-level matrix, so request terms for your specific deployment.

- Match the product and version. Identify the exact Sage product, edition, version, user count, customizations, and integrations. Get written confirmation that the provider supports them.
- Pin down geography and architecture. Ask where production data and backups are stored, which cloud platform is used, and whether remote access or a product change is involved.
- Define the migration plan. Document what data, configurations, and integrations will move; who owns each task; expected downtime; validation steps; and the rollback plan if cutover fails.
- Divide security duties. Record responsibility for identity, endpoint protection, patching, encryption, monitoring, network access, and incident response. Avoid assuming that a provider’s infrastructure controls secure your users’ devices or accounts.
- Read the recovery commitments. Obtain backup frequency, retention, restore-testing practice, recovery time objective, recovery point objective, and support response commitments in writing.
- Calculate the full cost and exit path. Compare setup, migration, hosting, support, storage, user, and renewal charges. Check data-export terms, notice periods, assistance fees, and how you can return to on-premises or change providers.
What changed in France in October 2026?
On 5 October 2026, Sage announced it was acquiring Moovin’Cloud’s French cloud migration and hosting business. Sage said the platform supports Sage 100, Sage 50, Batigest, and Génération Expert on Microsoft Azure; the deal excludes Moovin’Cloud’s separate Cloud Engineering consulting business. The announcement identifies France as the current focus and says no additional markets have been announced. Sage Investor Relations announcement
Sage also said the platform can deploy hosted environments in as little as 30 minutes and has supported more than 5,600 hosted customer environments. Those are figures in Sage’s acquisition announcement, not independently measured performance or a guarantee for a particular migration.

Which route should you take?
- If you are selecting finance software rather than preserving an existing installation, assess whether cloud-native Sage Intacct fits your workflows and integrations.
- If you want to keep a supported ERP product, confirm partner-hosting eligibility and compare the provider’s migration, security, recovery, and support commitments.
- If you use BusinessWorks or Fixed Assets, follow the product-specific hosting guidance rather than assuming the ERP hosting model applies.
- If you operate in France and use one of the products named in Sage’s MIC announcement, verify current availability and service terms directly before planning a move.
Sage says certified business partners can help customers choose and migrate, while service delivery partners may provide managed hosting, infrastructure, and security. Use a partner only after confirming its current accreditation, scope, product coverage, geography, and contractual responsibilities. Sage Partner Cloud; Sage partner network
