Specifications are from Samsung’s published device information; some details can vary by market. Samsung says actual battery life varies with usage and network conditions. The support periods begin from each model’s launch, so the S24 Ultra’s period began earlier. Update timing can also vary by market and carrier.

Today’s prices may differ because of discounts, carrier offers, stock, and the condition of used or refurbished devices. The launch figures alone cannot establish which phone is the better value now. Before buying, compare the live price for the same storage capacity and check seller, condition, warranty, and availability—particularly for the S24 Ultra.
Which phone has the more useful camera setup?
Choose the S24 Ultra for more telephoto flexibility
The S24 Ultra has both a dedicated 3x optical telephoto camera and a dedicated 5x optical telephoto camera. The S25+ has a 3x optical telephoto camera but no dedicated 5x unit. If you often frame distant subjects and want that additional optical focal length, the S24 Ultra offers the more flexible listed telephoto hardware.

- 6.7‑inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display (3120 × 1440) with adaptive 1‑120 Hz refresh rate, HDR support, and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — providing a large, sharp, and very bright screen.
Do not judge image quality by megapixels alone
The S24 Ultra’s main camera is listed at 200MP, compared with 50MP for the S25+. That difference describes sensor resolution, not a complete verdict on how photos look. No independent direct comparison is established here, so it would be misleading to claim that one phone takes better photos based only on these specifications.

If you plan to write notes by hand, mark up content, or use pen input, the S24 Ultra is the clear choice in this pair: it has integrated S Pen support, while the S25+ does not. If you will not use a stylus, that distinction need not outweigh the S25+’s lower historical launch price or lighter published weight.

Are the displays and batteries meaningfully different?
Both phones have QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with refresh rates up to 120Hz. The S24 Ultra’s display measures 6.8 inches diagonally and the S25+’s 6.7 inches, a 0.1-inch difference. On these specifications, both offer a large, high-resolution screen; the size gap is modest.
Samsung lists typical battery capacities of 5,000mAh for the S24 Ultra and 4,900mAh for the S25+. Both have 45W-class wired charging specifications. The 100mAh capacity difference does not establish which phone lasts longer in ordinary use: endurance depends on usage and network conditions, and no independent comparative battery test is available here.

Which phone is easier to carry?
Samsung lists the S25+ at 190g and the S24 Ultra’s Sub6 version at 232g, making the S25+ 42g lighter by those specifications. If a lighter handset matters more to you than the Ultra’s pen and extra telephoto camera, the S25+ is the more straightforward fit. Samsung notes that device weight can vary by market.
The frames also differ: Samsung lists titanium for the S24 Ultra and aluminum for the S25+. That is a construction distinction, not evidence on its own of a particular durability outcome.

Does the newer S25+ processor make it faster?
The S25+ uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, one processor generation newer than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy in the S24 Ultra. That establishes the platform generation, but without a direct comparative test it does not establish a particular speed, gaming, battery, or everyday-use advantage for this pair.
Quick Recap
Which one should you buy?
- Pick the S24 Ultra if integrated S Pen support or a dedicated 5x optical telephoto camera is important to you, or if you specifically want its titanium frame.
- Pick the S25+ if you want the lighter phone and newer processor platform, and do not need the S Pen or the dedicated 5x telephoto camera.
- Compare current offers before deciding on value. The $300 gap is between US launch starting prices, not a verified present-day price difference.
