For a flexible all-around pick, the Update 1 guides put Bounty Hunter, Breacher, and Smuggler in the top tier—but each excels at a different kind of run. Smuggler favors affordable mobility and solo play, Bounty Hunter combines speed with combat gear, and Breacher is aimed at vault runs. The best class for you depends on whether you value escape, fighting, loot access, or team support.
RUNAWAYS class tier list for Update 1
This ranking follows the tier list in Pro Game Guides’ article updated August 22, 2026, with role descriptions informed by a separate RUNAWAYS Wiki guide. The guides broadly agree on the strongest group, but this is a dated, subjective guide—not an official or permanent balance ranking. Pro Game Guides says it considers damage and survivability alongside speed, inventory space, starting weapons, breach tools, and the ability to finish a profitable run.

| A | Juggernaut, Gang Member, Medic | Durability, a ready generalist kit, or crew support |
| B | Contractor, Old CEO, Scout | More situational choices in the guide’s assessment |
| C | Brawler | Lowest-ranked option in that guide’s framing |
The tiers summarize the guide authors’ assessment, not a measured win-rate comparison or universal player consensus. Pro Game Guides’ author describes the rankings as personal impressions rather than objective or fixed fact.
Which S-tier class should you choose?
Smuggler: affordable mobility for solo runs
The RUNAWAYS Wiki guide reports a 45k cost, +20% running speed, a Small Backpack, and a Crowbar. That combination makes Smuggler its suggested early solo purchase: speed can help with getting in and out, while the crowbar provides a basic utility option. Verify the current price and kit at the in-game Class NPC before spending currency; the reported figures are guide data, not independently confirmed official stats.
#1 Best Overall

Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Bounty Hunter: a combat-ready upgrade
Both consulted guides place Bounty Hunter in S tier. The Wiki guide reports a 300k cost, +20% speed, and a Machete, Pistol, and ammunition. It is a natural step up for players who can afford the purchase and want mobility paired with a broader combat kit. If your main priority is opening vaults rather than fighting, Breacher may fit better.
Breacher: choose it for vault-focused runs
Breacher is also S tier in both guides. The Wiki guide reports a 550k cost and a kit with C4, a Medium Backpack, a Shotgun, and a +40% melee bonus. Its breach tools make it the clearest choice among the top picks for players organizing runs around vault access; its higher reported cost means it is less compelling as an early general-purpose purchase.

When an A-tier class is the better fit
Juggernaut: durability with an escape tradeoff
The Wiki guide reports an 850k cost, +100% health, armor, a Minigun, a Medium Backpack, and -20% running speed. That defensive kit can suit coordinated crews or border-fight scenarios, but the speed penalty is a real drawback when a run depends on escaping quickly. Both guides place it below the more broadly useful S-tier options, while the Wiki guide treats it as stronger in specialized team or border contexts.

Gang Member: a generalist alternative
The Wiki guide describes Gang Member as a mid-price generalist, making it an option when you want a ready kit without optimizing solely for solo speed or vault access. The available guide material does not establish a precise cost or complete stat list here, so check the in-game class listing rather than relying on an assumed number.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Medic: support for a coordinated crew
The Wiki guide describes Medic as a crew-support choice with healing supplies and +20% health. That role can be more valuable when teammates can benefit from sustain than on a solo run. The guide does not provide a verified current price in the material available, so confirm the cost in game.
Why the B- and C-tier classes rank lower in this guide
Pro Game Guides puts Contractor, Old CEO, and Scout in B tier and Brawler in C tier. The consulted guides cite drawbacks such as mobility or health penalties, limited starting utility, or a nearby alternative that offers more value. These are the authors’ judgments for the Update 1 balance context, not proof that the classes cannot work or that every player will rank them the same way. Consider one if its specific kit suits your run, but compare its current price and tradeoffs against the alternatives before buying.

Choose a class by the job you need done
- Solo progression: The Wiki guide suggests Smuggler → Bounty Hunter → Breacher, moving from a lower-cost speed option to a combat-ready pick and then a vault-focused class.
- Coordinated crew: Consider adding Medic for healing support or Gang Member as a generalist. The guide reserves Juggernaut for more specialized border work rather than treating it as the default upgrade.
- Combat coverage: Bounty Hunter has the strongest reported combination of speed and weapons among the three S-tier options; Juggernaut trades movement speed for durability.
- Vault access: Breacher is the role-specific choice because its reported kit includes C4.
- Escape and movement: Smuggler and Bounty Hunter both have a reported +20% running-speed bonus, while the Wiki guide reports a -20% penalty for Juggernaut.
- Loot capacity: Compare the backpack listed for the class in game; the Wiki guide reports a Small Backpack for Smuggler and Medium Backpacks for Breacher and Juggernaut.
Check current prices and stats before buying
The RUNAWAYS Wiki says its rankings reflect the Update 1 beta window on 50-player servers and warns that prices and stats have been retuned between patches. Its advice is to check the Class NPC for current prices. No developer source independently confirms the class figures in these guides, so treat their costs and bonuses as reported snapshots rather than guaranteed current values.
