A new rumor claims Samsung may offer the Galaxy S27 Ultra with Qualcomm Snapdragon silicon worldwide, without an Exynos 2700 version. That is not a confirmed specification: reporting published October 2 said Samsung had not settled the Ultra’s chipset, and no official Samsung announcement has confirmed its processor or regional allocation.
What the new Galaxy S27 Ultra rumor says
SamMobile reported on October 11, 2026, that a South Korean Naver blogger claimed the Galaxy S27 Ultra may use Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon chip exclusively. The claim reportedly rests in part on the view that Exynos 2700 yields are good but that no allocation has been made for the Ultra. The same report said other rumored Galaxy S27 models may use Exynos 2700, and cautioned that it is too early to be certain. SamMobile’s October 11 report

Sammy Fans published a similar possibility on October 9, also attributing it to Naver blogger Lanzuk. That is another report of the rumor, not independent confirmation from Samsung. Sammy Fans’ October 9 report

Why the reports do not settle the question
An earlier SamMobile report, dated October 2, described Samsung’s mobile division as undecided. It said Samsung’s System LSI division reportedly wanted Exynos 2700 considered for the Ultra, while Samsung MX was weighing performance, cooling, and cost. A regional split—Exynos in some markets and Snapdragon in others—was still described as possible. Those reported deliberations are not confirmed statements from Samsung. SamMobile’s October 2 report

| Possibility | What it would mean | Evidence status |
|---|---|---|
| Snapdragon worldwide | The S27 Ultra would use Qualcomm silicon in every market. | Claimed by the October 11 rumor; unconfirmed. |
| Regional Snapdragon and Exynos versions | Chip choice could differ by market, with Exynos 2700 in some regions. | Described as possible in October 2 reporting; unconfirmed. |
Neither report establishes Samsung’s final decision, and no official market-by-market chipset allocation for the Galaxy S27 Ultra has been identified.
What Qualcomm’s partnership with Samsung tells us—and what it doesn’t
Qualcomm’s FY2026 second-quarter earnings presentation says that “Qualcomm and Samsung’s decades-long strategic partnership strengthens with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy powering the Galaxy S26 series.” This confirms Snapdragon’s role in the prior-generation Galaxy S26 series, but it says nothing about the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s eventual processor. Qualcomm announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 on September 22, 2026. TechRadar noted at publication that official information identifying which phones would use either chip was unavailable; its mention of the Galaxy S27 Ultra was explicitly a rumor, not a confirmed device pairing. TechRadar’s September 22 report
Has Samsung confirmed the S27 Ultra’s processor?
No. The available reports describe competing possibilities, and Qualcomm’s statement concerns the Galaxy S26 series. Until Samsung publishes an official Galaxy S27 Ultra specification or regional allocation, Snapdragon-only availability should be treated as a rumor—not a buying or product specification.
