ROZOOM’s installer became much smaller in version 0.25.0 because the project stopped bundling its full collection of command-line tools into every download. The new slim build keeps kubectl and helm; the full-offline build retains the broader toolset for users who need it or cannot rely on internet access. The package sizes and contents below are figures reported by ROZOOM article author UDAWPK in 2026, not independently verified release-artifact measurements.
Why earlier ROZOOM installers approached 500 MB
According to UDAWPK’s 2026 article, every release before the split bundled kubectl, helm, and about 20 additional command-line tools in each platform installer. Examples included velero, trivy, doctl, stern, and kustomize. That meant users downloaded tools they might never use, and the article says Linux builds reached roughly half a gigabyte.

Version 0.25.0 changed the distribution model: instead of making the broad toolset the default for everyone, ROZOOM offered a slim build for ordinary use and a full-offline build for users who need the extra bundled utilities.
What the slim and full-offline builds include
| Build | Reported size | Bundled tools and UI availability | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Slim | Varies by platform and package format; figures below | Retains kubectl and helm, but drops the extended CLI set. UDAWPK says UI features that require removed tools are hidden. |
Most users who do not need the extra utilities bundled or offline access to them. |
| Full-offline | 199–486 MB, as reported by UDAWPK in 2026 | Retains the broader toolset and assets intended for offline use. | Air-gapped machines, restricted networks, or users who need the additional bundled tools without downloading them separately. |
The split is a tradeoff between a smaller download and a more self-contained package. Slim is not simply the old installer compressed: it omits tools, and the article says related UI features are hidden when those tools are unavailable.

Which Linux package is smaller?
If download size is the priority, the article’s figures favor the Linux .deb or .rpm package at 47.1 MB over the .AppImage at 115.4 MB. Choose the package format that fits your distribution and installation preferences; the figures do not establish that one format is more suitable for every Linux system.

When to choose each build
Choose slim for a typical connected setup
- You have internet access when you need to obtain tools that are not bundled.
- You mainly need the included
kubectlandhelm. - You prefer a smaller download and accept that UI features requiring removed utilities will be hidden.
Choose full-offline for disconnected or restricted environments
- The machine is air-gapped or internet access is limited by policy or network conditions.
- You need ROZOOM’s broader bundled CLI set and assets available without fetching them separately.
- The larger installer is an acceptable cost for having those resources on hand.
UDAWPK says the slim package is the default download, but existing users may not automatically move to it: the version they previously used affects whether they remain on full-offline, and some users must switch manually. Check the release guidance for your installed version before assuming an update will change build type.

This is a comparison reported by ROZOOM’s author, not an independently verified or broader installer study. It applies to those stated packages and versions, not necessarily to other platforms or releases.

What the size figures do—and do not—establish
The reported numbers explain the product’s packaging decision, but they should be read as figures from the author’s article rather than independently checked artifact measurements. The article points to the app-v0.25.0 release notes for platform artifacts, checksums, and signatures; those release materials were not retrieved for independent confirmation. The article also does not establish how many users choose either build.
UDAWPK summarizes the rationale this way: “The split exists because bundling everything by default was the wrong tradeoff for the common case.”
