A Roblox Star Code is a code assigned to an eligible Video Star creator. Enter one during an eligible Roblox purchase checkout, if the code field is available, to attribute support to that creator. Roblox requires creators to disclose that they may earn commission when fans use their assigned codes. The checkout steps and commission rate below are reported by a third-party guide, so check the current Roblox checkout flow before paying.
How to use a Roblox Star Code
Beebom’s guide, updated October 1, 2026, reports that Star Codes can be entered when buying Robux or Premium on Roblox’s website or desktop app. Its directions are not confirmed in the Roblox Support material cited here, and checkout interfaces can change.

- Open Roblox on the website or in the desktop app and start an eligible Robux or Premium purchase.
- Look for the Star Code field before payment and enter the code assigned to the creator you want to support.
- Check whether the creator’s name or avatar appears after you apply the code, then continue to payment if the details are correct.
The same guide says the standard Roblox mobile app does not show the field; it suggests using Roblox in a browser instead. Treat that as current-guide reporting, not a guarantee for every device or checkout. If there is no code field, do not assume the code was applied.

Does using a Star Code cost you extra?
Beebom reports that a creator receives a 5% bonus commission and that the buyer pays no extra when using a Star Code. This is a secondary-source claim from its October 1, 2026 guide, not a rate independently confirmed by the Roblox Support page cited here. Roblox’s official guidance does confirm that creators must disclose when a Roblox-assigned code can earn them commission.

Which creators can have Star Codes?
Star Codes are associated with Roblox’s Video Stars Program, which Roblox describes as a program for top video and livestream creators. Roblox says it considers viewership and audience engagement, and that meeting its published minimums does not guarantee acceptance. The thresholds below are from Roblox’s program page, last updated in December 2025; Roblox notes that criteria may change.
| Content format | Published minimum audience | Average views or viewers | Measurement period |
|---|---|---|---|
| Long-form video | 100,000 followers or subscribers | 25,000 average views across long-form videos | Previous six months |
| Short-form video | 100,000 followers or subscribers | 50,000 average views across short-form videos | Previous six months |
| Livestream | 10,000 followers or subscribers | 300 average concurrent viewers across streams | Previous six months |
Roblox lists English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Japanese, and Korean among eligible content languages. It also lists program benefits such as direct access to its team, early feature and marketing opportunities, a regular Robux stipend, Creator Rewards access, and verification. Applications are open through the Roblox Video Stars portal; eligibility figures alone do not promise an invitation or acceptance.

What creators must disclose when sharing a code
Roblox’s official Video Stars Program guidance says: “Every time you offer your fans a code you have been assigned by Roblox, you must make it clear that you will be paid a commission if they use that code.” It says video disclosures should appear in the video and its description, while livestream disclosures should be repeated from time to time. Disclosures should be clear, easily visible or audible, and in the same language as the content.
Roblox suggests the wording, “If you use this code, I will receive a commission from Roblox”. That suggested sentence is not necessarily a complete legal disclosure: Roblox notes that local laws and third-party platform rules may add requirements.

Star Codes are not promo codes or gift-card redemption codes
A Star Code is a creator attribution code used in an eligible purchase flow; it is not the same as redeeming a Roblox promo code. Roblox’s promo-code instructions cover a separate redemption process for promotional codes that can provide credit, Robux, or a virtual item. The available sources do not establish that buying or redeeming a gift card, toy, book, or creator merchandise applies a Star Code or credits its creator.
