There is no single width for every Ring Video Doorbell. Ring lists the Video Doorbell Wired as 1.8 inches wide, while other generations and models have different dimensions. If you mean camera coverage rather than the device’s body, check its field of view, measured in degrees.
Physical width and camera view are different measurements
Physical dimensions describe the doorbell’s size; field of view describes how much of the scene its camera can capture. For the Video Doorbell Wired, Ring gives dimensions in height × width × depth order and lists a 155° horizontal field of view. The 155° figure is an angle, not the device’s width.

Ring’s specification pages do not all present dimensions in the same order or units. The table preserves each model’s published ordering, so the listed dimensions for the two 2K models should not be read as a confirmed width.

How to check whether a model will fit
- Identify the exact model. Check the product name or generation in the Ring app, product packaging, or the device’s documentation. “Ring Video Doorbell” alone may refer to several different sizes.
- Use the model’s own dimension order. For the Video Doorbell Wired, Ring explicitly labels its measurements height × width × depth. For the 2K models, use Ring’s listed dimensions without assuming the first or second number is width.
- Compare the device with the mounting location. Measure the available space and account for the required mounting hardware. The specifications above do not establish whether a particular model will fit an existing mounting plate or location; check that model’s installation requirements before installing.
- Choose the relevant camera angle separately. If you are checking how much of the entryway the camera can see, compare horizontal and vertical field of view rather than the body dimensions.
What the measurements mean for common models
If you have the Video Doorbell Wired
Its specified width is 1.8 inches (45.7 mm), using Ring’s stated height × width × depth ordering. Its horizontal field of view is 155°.
