Ridge Security says its RidgeOne appliance runs autonomous penetration tests locally, so test data does not need to leave a customer’s environment for processing by Ridge Security or an AI provider. That is the vendor’s description—not independently verified proof of the appliance’s architecture or safeguards. RidgeOne combines RidgeGen, a locally run open-weight model, and NVIDIA DGX Spark hardware.
What RidgeOne is
Ridge Security positions RidgeOne as an on-premises appliance for autonomous penetration testing and red teaming. Its three described components are the RidgeGen agentic testing platform, an open-weight model run locally, and NVIDIA DGX Spark hardware. The product page names NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Nano, NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Super, and GPT-OSS as model options. Ridge Security does not provide a complete configuration matrix by model, license, or region, so buyers should confirm what is currently available for their deployment. Ridge Security’s RidgeOne page

RidgeOne is distinct from RidgeGen’s broader deployment options. Ridge Security also describes on-premises RidgeGen deployments that may use supported frontier-model providers or self-hosted open-source models. RidgeOne is presented specifically as an appliance that includes a local open-weight model. Ridge Security’s RidgeGen page
What “data stays inside” means—and what is claimed
Ridge Security says the model runs on the appliance and a test needs no connection to Ridge Security or an AI provider. It says credentials are held in a protected SafeBox, used in memory for the test, not persisted in RidgeGen, and not passed to third parties, including model vendors. The company also says disk writes are encrypted and retained evidence is limited to high-level structure or metadata rather than credential values or database contents. These are vendor statements; the product pages do not independently validate the design or its operation in a customer environment. RidgeOne product details RidgeGen product details
#1 Best Overall
- BEST VALUE: Protect all your eligible Amazon purchases including: tech, tools, appliances, furniture and more. All for one low monthly price.
- PAST AND FUTURE PROTECTION: Covers malfunctions and failures, plus drops or spills for eligible portable items. Protection begins immediately for eligible purchases from the past 90 days, plus all eligible future purchases (products used commercially are excluded).
- TRUSTED CYBERSECURITY: Digital security with scam detection for emails and texts.
- EASY CLAIMS: File in minutes at www.asurion.com/amazon for fast repair or reimbursement - up to the purchase price.
- NO HIDDEN FEES. CANCEL ANYTIME: Up to $5,000 in total claims per 12-month period. Your plan renews monthly until canceled (coupons applied at checkout don’t renew monthly).
The practical distinction is between a product designed to process test data locally and an independently audited assurance that no data can leave under all configurations. The published descriptions support the former claim. They do not establish the latter, nor do they document every network connection, update mechanism, telemetry setting, or deployment configuration.
Operator controls, modes, and test coverage
Ridge Security says operators choose which systems are in scope and select the testing posture. It describes a local audit trail of actions and says credentials remain outside the AI’s reach. RidgeGen’s product page presents three modes:
Rank #2
- APPLIANCE ONLY: Hardware unit sold without a service subscription — security services, firmware updates and support are NOT included and must be purchased separately to activate protection.
- PERFORMANCE: Up to 2.5 Gbps firewall inspection, 1 Gbps threat prevention and 1.2 Gbps IPSec VPN throughput driven by SonicWall's patented Reassembly-Free Deep Packet Inspection (RFDPI) engine.
- CONNECTIVITY: 8x1GbE + 2x1G SFP in a desktop form factor; zero-touch deploy and manage on-box or via cloud Network Security Manager (NSM).
- THREAT PROTECTION: SonicOS 8 delivers intrusion prevention, gateway anti-malware, application control, TLS/SSL decryption, Capture ATP multi-engine sandboxing (RTDMI) and reputation-based content & DNS filtering with an active service subscription.
- BUILT FOR SMALL BUSINESS & BRANCH: Secure SD-WAN, IPSec and SSL VPN plus Zero-Trust Network Access through Cloud Secure Edge keep distributed sites and remote workers protected.
| Mode | Vendor description | Intended context |
|---|---|---|
| Safe | Blocks write, modify, and delete actions against targets | Production-oriented testing |
| Supervised | Allows limited temporary actions for proof while blocking destructive changes | Testing where bounded proof actions are permitted |
| Authorized-Aggressive | Allows more impactful actions | Non-production environments with authorization |
Ridge Security says safety policies operate outside the model’s discretion. The mode descriptions and safeguards are vendor claims, not independent confirmation of how controls are implemented or enforced. Operators still need explicit authorization and a carefully defined scope before testing any system. RidgeGen modes and controls

What the demonstration does—and does not—show
A Yahoo Finance launch report relayed Ridge Security’s account of a RidgeOne test against OWASP Juice Shop, saying the system completed a full autonomous penetration test without operator involvement. That is a vendor-reported demonstration carried in secondary reporting, not an independent benchmark or assessment. It does not establish performance across other targets, test conditions, or production environments. Yahoo Finance launch report
The official product pages and launch coverage do not establish an independent security audit, a comparative benchmark, or a quantified performance or cost-savings result. They are useful for understanding what Ridge Security says the product does, but not as third-party validation.

- SonicWall TZ370 High Availability Unit (02-SSC-6443) - Seamless Failover Protection: Designed to pair with a primary SonicWall firewall for automatic failover and continuous network uptime. Not a Standalone unit - requires an identical primary SonicWall appliance; cannot function independently.
- Protects against encrypted malware and intrusions using DPI-SSL inspection, IPS, anti-malware, and Capture ATP sandboxing with RTDMI detection.
- Secure SD-WAN intelligently steers traffic across links to reduce MPLS costs and improve cloud application performance for branch users.
- Zero-Touch deployment, SonicExpress onboarding, and centralized management via Network Security Manager simplify rollout and ongoing operations.
- Scales up to 900,000 to 1,000,000 concurrent connections depending on policy mix, supporting secure growth across users and devices.
Hardware, licensing, and cost
Ridge Security says a RidgeOne setup uses NVIDIA DGX Spark hardware and requires a separate RidgeGen license. It directs buyers to obtain the hardware through NVIDIA or authorized partners and says a Ridge Security representative can confirm licensing and credits, help size a deployment, and scope a proof of value. The product page says there are no AI token costs; it does not publish hardware pricing, license pricing, or total cost of ownership. RidgeOne procurement information
DGX Spark is a component of the described setup, not by itself a RidgeOne license or a turnkey penetration-testing product. Buyers should confirm the hardware configuration, license terms, included credits, model choice, and any recurring operating costs directly with Ridge Security before comparing the total investment with other deployment approaches.
Quick Recap
What to verify before deploying
- Data flows: Ask for a current network-flow and data-retention description covering test execution, logs, evidence, product updates, and support.
- Credential handling: Confirm how SafeBox is configured, who can access it, what remains after a test, and how secrets are removed.
- Model and license: Confirm the available model, RidgeGen license, credits, and whether the proposed configuration needs any external provider connection.
- Scope and safety: Agree on target lists, exclusions, testing mode, authorization, and the process for stopping or recovering from an unexpected action.
- Audit evidence: Ask to inspect the local action trail and establish how it can be retained and reviewed under your organization’s controls.
- Acceptance criteria: Define a proof of value using systems and scenarios representative of your environment; the reported Juice Shop demonstration alone does not establish results for your targets.
