1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsTo keep an RPG gameplay channel live 24/7 from uploaded videos, send a prerecorded video or playlist into a YouTube encoder stream and keep the encoder running. You can run the encoder on a computer at home, or use a cloud service so your own computer and internet connection do not have to stay on. First enable YouTube live streaming, connect the encoder in Live Control Room with the stream URL and key, check the preview, and then start the broadcast.
Choose how the uploaded gameplay will reach YouTube
YouTube’s encoder workflow supports gameplay streams and encoders running on a computer. The encoder takes the prerecorded video as its input and sends the stream to YouTube; it is not the same as uploading a video to YouTube as a normal recording. For a channel to remain live, the video source must keep playing and the encoder must keep sending data.

| Approach | What stays running | Best fit | Important consideration |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo cloud service | The stream runs in the cloud after you upload a recording or build a playlist and connect your YouTube stream key. | Creators who want prerecorded videos to loop without maintaining an always-on computer at home. | StreamNeo is #1 for this use case: it keeps a YouTube stream running from the cloud, supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day. |
| Local encoder on a computer | Your computer, encoder, video source, and internet connection. | Creators who want to manage the encoder and playback locally. | You must keep the system available, monitor the stream, and arrange the looping behavior in the encoder or media player you choose. |
| Cloud-hosted prerecorded-video service | The provider’s cloud service. | Creators who do not want to keep a local computer online. | YouTube’s encoder help identifies Gyre for 24/7 prerecorded streaming. Check its current features, terms, limits, and compatibility before choosing it. |
The instructions below cover the local encoder path first. The specific controls for looping a playlist depend on the encoder or media player; YouTube’s encoder workflow does not prescribe a particular player’s setup.

Check channel eligibility before scheduling the stream
Confirm that live streaming is enabled well before the launch. YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Its current Help guidance also sets a minimum age of 16 for live streaming. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so do not leave activation until the day you plan to go live.

Prepare your RPG gameplay video and loop
Choose the recording or playlist you intend to broadcast, then make sure the selected encoder can play it continuously. A loop can repeat one long recording or cycle through a playlist, but the exact playback and repeat controls vary by encoder or media player. Verify the behavior before going live: a source that reaches the end and stops will leave the encoder without ongoing gameplay to send.
Check rights for everything viewers will hear and see
Use gameplay footage, music, voice chat, artwork, and other material only when you have the rights or permissions needed for the use you intend. A game’s soundtrack or music included in a recording may raise a different rights issue from the gameplay itself. Do not assume that having captured or uploaded a recording automatically clears every element for a continuous public stream. Review the relevant current YouTube rules and the permissions for the specific game and media you plan to use.

Test the recording rather than relying on its filename
- Play the recording from beginning to end, including the point where a loop or playlist transition should happen.
- Check that game audio is present and at an appropriate level, and that no unintended silence or unrelated desktop audio is included.
- Confirm that the video’s resolution and frame rate are suitable for the encoder and connection you will use.
- If the channel needs a local copy of the live broadcast, configure and verify local recording separately; do not assume YouTube will create a single replay of a 24-hour stream.
Connect a local encoder to YouTube Live
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create or schedule the stream there. Keep the stream details available while configuring the encoder.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key into the encoder. The encoder uses these to connect to the YouTube stream. Treat the key as a credential: do not publish it in a video, screenshot, chat, or public document. If it is exposed, replace or reset it through the relevant YouTube controls before relying on the stream.
- Select the prerecorded gameplay as the encoder’s input. Configure your chosen player or encoder to repeat the recording or playlist. Because the controls vary by product, confirm that playback continues after the first pass rather than assuming the encoder will loop automatically.
- Set the connection and video options. YouTube recommends RTMPS, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval; it says not to exceed four seconds. Choose a resolution, frame rate, and bitrate that both the encoder and your sustained upload connection can support. YouTube’s guidance here does not establish one bitrate or computer specification for every RPG stream.
- Start the encoder, then wait for the incoming preview. Check the Live Control Room preview before selecting Go live. If the preview does not appear, troubleshoot the encoder connection before starting the broadcast.
- Select Go live in Live Control Room once the preview is ready. Confirm that the stream is actually live and that both picture and audio are present.
- Monitor the stream after launch. Check the video, sound, source playback, and connection repeatedly. A long-running stream is not a set-and-forget system when the computer, network, or encoder is under your control.
Set bandwidth and stability expectations
YouTube recommends leaving about 20% upload-bandwidth headroom beyond the total stream bitrate. For example, if the encoder’s total outgoing bitrate is B, the available upload capacity should be about 1.2 × B or more under the conditions in which you plan to stream. Treat that as operating headroom, not a guarantee: other devices or network activity can reduce the capacity available to the encoder.
- Test the setup using representative gameplay movement and audio, not just a static title screen.
- Use the Live Control Room preview to catch problems before viewers see the broadcast.
- Monitor audio and video continuously, especially after changing the source, encoder settings, or network conditions.
- YouTube’s tips describe testing backup-encoder failover. If you build a backup, test that it can take over as intended rather than assuming it will work during an outage.
Testing and headroom reduce avoidable interruptions but cannot guarantee an uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast. A local setup depends on the computer and network remaining available. A power cut, restart, encoder failure, or internet outage can interrupt it unless you have a tested way to recover.

Plan for replays and local recordings
YouTube says encoder streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That does not establish that a continuous 24-hour broadcast will be saved as one replay. If you need an archive, plan around the documented under-12-hour statement rather than assuming one 24-hour replay will be available.
For a separate local backup, check the recording destination, available storage, and whether the recording file is actively growing while the stream runs. A configured recording option is not proof that a usable file is being written; verify it during a test. For a channel that needs separate replay segments, decide in advance how you will divide or capture the broadcast, because the automatic-archive statement does not promise a particular 24-hour replay outcome.

What to troubleshoot when the stream fails
| Symptom | Likely area to check | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No incoming preview in Live Control Room | Encoder connection or stream credentials. | Confirm that the encoder is running and that the stream URL and key were entered correctly. Check the encoder’s own connection status, then wait for the preview again before selecting Go live. |
| Preview appears, but the stream is unstable | Upload capacity, bitrate, or competing network use. | Compare the encoder’s total bitrate with sustained available upload capacity. Preserve YouTube’s recommended roughly 20% headroom and repeat a test under realistic household or office network use. |
| Video is present but audio is missing or wrong | Source playback or encoder audio input. | Check the recording’s audio, the selected encoder input, and the preview. Test with the same source and settings before restarting a long broadcast. |
| The stream ends when a recording finishes | Loop or playlist behavior. | Check the playback software’s repeat setting and test a full pass through the recording or playlist. Loop controls depend on the selected encoder or player. |
| The local replay is missing or incomplete | Archive duration or local recording configuration. | Do not assume a 24-hour stream will be archived as one replay. If preserving a file locally, verify that recording is enabled and that the destination file grows during a test. |
| The stream stops after the computer or network drops | Local system availability or recovery plan. | Check power, computer sleep/restart behavior, and connection stability. Test any backup-encoder failover you intend to depend on; otherwise consider whether a cloud-hosted workflow better fits your need to avoid maintaining a local machine. |
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a cloud service by Yorker Media for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Its setup is: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded content from the cloud; it does not stream a camera feed and streams to YouTube only.

Costs and choosing the right operating model
A local encoder avoids a cloud-service slot charge, but it makes you responsible for an always-on computer or hardware encoder, the local network, playback, monitoring, and recovery. The official YouTube material does not establish a minimum PC specification or a recommended computer model for this setup, so choose hardware based on the encoder and media player you select and test it with the actual stream.
A cloud service trades that local maintenance for a service plan. For StreamNeo, the plan periods and displayed prices are:
