If a video in Restream Studio stops at the end, turn on Loop in that video’s playback controls. If you scheduled a pre-recorded event, edit its loop count. A Restream playlist cannot loop as a playlist, so duplicate its entries. If the entire live stream goes offline, check the incoming stream connection instead: that is different from a video reaching its end.
First identify what stopped
- A video source in Studio stopped: Turn on its individual Loop control.
- A scheduled pre-recorded event stopped: Set or edit the event’s loop count.
- A playlist finished: Restream does not currently support looping a playlist; duplicate its entries before it goes live.
- The whole broadcast went offline: Investigate the RTMP/SRT input or disconnect protection, not the video’s loop setting.
These are separate Restream workflows, and their controls and limits differ.

Loop a video in Restream Studio
For a video stored in Restream
- Add a scene in Restream Studio and select Media, then Video.
- Choose a video from Restream storage, or upload one.
- Open the video’s playback controls and switch on Loop. The video repeats from the beginning when it reaches the end.
Restream allows one video from storage to play at a time. See Restream’s instructions for playing videos in Studio.

For a local video
- Add a scene and select Media.
- Select the plus icon, choose Local video, and open the file.
- Open the video’s playback controls and turn on Loop.
Restream says local-video playback is free for all users, recommends Chrome, and advises using a powerful computer for optimal results. If the computer struggles to play the file, try a video from Restream storage instead. See Restream’s local-video instructions.

Check the stream output resolution as well as the video source. Restream says the outgoing Studio stream retains the video’s original quality, while the preview may appear lower quality for performance. A source with higher resolution than the stream output—for example, a 4K file on a 720p stream—may be reduced to match the output. Details: Restream Studio video playback.
Set a loop count for a scheduled pre-recorded event
A scheduled pre-recorded event is not the same as a Studio video source or a playlist. When creating or editing a single-video event, enable the optional loop count and choose up to 10 plays. Restream’s current article lists Marathon and Media add-on plans for this looping feature. Plan names and availability can change, so check your account’s current plan and event controls if the option is missing.

- Schedule a video as a Pre-recorded livestream.
- Select Video, then choose or upload the file and enter the event details.
- Enable the loop-count option and select the number of plays, up to 10.
- To change the count later, go to the Home screen, open the event’s three-dot menu, and choose Edit event. Edit the event date/time settings and save.
The event card displays the loop quantity, and the scheduled video airs at the selected time. Some destinations, including TikTok or Instagram, may require you to click Go Live on that platform after Restream starts the broadcast. Work around playlist looping limits
Restream says playlists do not currently support looping as a playlist. To repeat a sequence, duplicate its videos in the desired order before the playlist goes live. For example, to repeat A, B, C, arrange A, B, C, A, B, C, and continue as needed.

- A playlist can contain up to 40 video entries and run for up to 24 hours.
- Add, remove, or reorder playlist contents before it goes live; those changes are not available once it is live.
- Restream lists playlists under Upload & Stream Marathon or Media add-on tiers.
- If you need live and prerecorded segments together, Restream points to Studio video sources rather than a playlist.

If the entire stream goes offline
A media file ending is not the same as an RTMP/SRT input disconnecting. Restream’s disconnect protection can play a fallback video when the source drops, but it must be configured before going live and requires a Business or custom Enterprise plan.
- Before the broadcast, configure disconnect protection and choose a 5-, 15-, or 30-minute fallback window.
- If the source reconnects during that window, the fallback stops and the live feed resumes.
- If the source does not reconnect before the window ends, the destination streams end and you must start a new stream.
Restream describes the default fallback as a 17-second video that loops during the selected window. It is a temporary disconnect fallback, not a setting that repeats your scheduled video indefinitely. See Restream’s disconnect-protection setup guide.

For a scheduled event, establish whether the video source stopped, the event reached its configured end, or the incoming stream disconnected. Restream’s documentation does not establish a specific bug or diagnose an individual account, so do not assume a service outage without further evidence.

Restream recommends Full HD 1080p at 30 or 60 FPS, constant bitrate where appropriate, and adding 15–20 seconds at the start and end so destinations can process the incoming stream. The recommended bitrate depends on the destination platform. These are file and performance recommendations; Restream does not say that missing an optional recommendation disables the loop control. Quick troubleshooting checks
- Studio video plays once: Open that source’s playback controls and switch on Loop.
- Scheduled event plays once: Edit the event and inspect its loop count and plan eligibility.
- Playlist finishes: Duplicate entries in sequence before going live; playlist looping itself is unsupported.
- Local video stutters or stops: Try Chrome, check that the computer can handle playback, or use a video in Restream storage.
- The output looks softer than the source: Compare the source resolution with Studio’s output resolution.
- The entire broadcast ends after an input drop: Check the source connection and whether disconnect protection was configured in advance.
- The scheduled file will not work as expected: Verify its container, H.264 video, AAC audio, and keyframe interval 2.
