Open the Chat that had the Streak and look for Restore beside it. If Snapchat offers the control, tap it and follow the in-app instructions. If it does not appear—or the attempt fails—you can ask Snapchat Support to review the loss, but recovery is limited to recently expired Streaks and is not guaranteed.
How to restore a Snapchat Streak
- Open the affected Chat. Find the one-on-one or group Chat where the Streak was active. Check beside it for a Restore control. Snapchat identifies this option as the in-app signal that the Streak may be eligible for restoration. Snapchat Support explains the restore process.
- Tap Restore if it is available. Follow the instructions shown in Snapchat. The flow may include an in-app purchase; availability and eligibility are limited.
- If Restore is missing, consider the timing. Snapchat says a Streak can be restored only for a limited time after it expires. The support guidance reviewed does not give an exact hours-or-days cutoff, so there is no published time window to calculate against.
- Ask Support to review it if the in-app attempt fails. Submit Snapchat’s Streak restoration request. Snapchat says only recently expired Streaks can be restored, so a request is not a guarantee of recovery. Use the official Snapchat Support request form.
- Use the app store’s refund process for an accidental purchase. Snapchat directs iPhone and iPad users to the Apple App Store and Android users to Google Play. Snapchat does not process these refunds.
What to do if Restore does not appear
The missing control is not something you can force to appear: Snapchat describes in-app Restore as the indicator that a Streak is eligible, and says restoration is available only for a limited time. If you believe the Streak expired recently, submit the support request for review. Snapchat does not publish an exact eligibility cutoff, response time, or success rate in its guidance, so avoid relying on a specific deadline or expected outcome.

Does Snapchat+ make restoration possible?
Snapchat+ subscribers receive one free in-app Streak Restore per subscription month. The monthly allowance renews according to the day the subscription began, and unused free Restores do not roll over. Snapchat+ is not a universal prerequisite: the ordinary eligibility check remains whether Restore appears beside the affected Chat.

How to avoid losing the next Streak
- One-on-one Chats: Both people must send each other a photo or video Snap in the Chat every day. Text messages alone do not meet that requirement.
- Group Chats: Most members of the group must send a photo or video Snap in the group each day.
- Act on the hourglass: An hourglass emoji means the Streak is about to expire. Exchange a photo or video Snap as soon as possible.
