Reg-suit is a configurable CLI for comparing screenshot images; Percy is a hosted visual review platform with official SDKs and CI/CD integrations. Neither is a universal winner for Indian teams: the better fit depends on your existing screenshot and CI workflow, how much configuration and storage ownership you want, and whether you need an integrated hosted review process. The reviewed product information does not establish India-specific pricing, data residency, availability, support, or contract terms, so verify those directly before choosing.
How reg-suit and Percy differ
| Area | reg-suit | Percy |
|---|---|---|
| Operating model | A CLI that compares supplied images and generates an HTML differences report. Snapshot publishing and related tasks are configured through plugins. | A visual review platform with official SDKs and CI/CD integrations intended to connect visual checks with code review and notifications. |
| Screenshot input | Your test stack needs to produce the images reg-suit compares. Its README illustrates screenshot-producing approaches including Puppeteer and Storybook. | Use a supported SDK or integration to capture and upload snapshots; the documented Playwright integration is one example. |
| Storage and workflow | Plugins can handle snapshot storage, commit-key generation, and notifications. Named storage examples include AWS S3 and Google Cloud Storage. | Percy presents review as part of its hosted platform and CI/code-review workflow. |
| Review output | An HTML report shows image differences; the workflow identifies expected snapshots and publishes comparison reports. | Visual changes are reviewed in Percy’s platform as part of its integrated workflow. |
These describe different operating models, not a measured head-to-head result. The reg-suit project README documents the CLI and plugins. Percy’s official site describes its visual review product and says, “Percy is now part of BrowserStack.” Its integration documentation describes SDK and CI/CD connections.

Choose based on your team’s workflow
Reg-suit may fit teams that want configurable building blocks
Reg-suit is worth evaluating if your team already captures screenshots and wants to compose comparison, snapshot storage, commit identification, and notifications around its existing CI process. Its configuration uses regconfig.json, where the project specifies such items as the actual image directory, thresholds, and plugins.
This flexibility also means the team must select, configure, and operate the relevant pieces. In particular, decide how screenshots are generated, how baselines are identified and stored, and where reports and notifications should go. The project’s examples do not establish that every illustrated screenshot approach is equally maintained or appropriate for your application.

Percy may fit teams seeking an integrated visual review platform
Percy is a candidate when you want official SDKs and CI/CD integrations to connect snapshot capture with a hosted visual review and code-review workflow. That does not by itself prove that Percy will take less setup, work better with your specific CI system, or be preferable for your security requirements; validate the integration using your own application and policies.
Check framework and CI fit before committing
Start with the framework that produces your application’s screenshots and the CI environment that runs those tests. Reg-suit compares images supplied to its CLI, so verify that your current capture process can produce stable, repeatable images and that you can wire its plugins into your pipeline. Percy lists official SDKs and CI integrations; confirm that the current SDK supports your application type and that the integration matches your CI and review process.

For a concrete Percy example, its documented Playwright workflow uses the npm packages @percy/cli and @percy/playwright. The example invokes a Percy snapshot and runs through percy exec with a project token to create a Percy build and upload snapshots. Treat this as a documented integration path, not a guarantee about implementation effort or suitability for every Indian team.
Account for storage, baselines, and review ownership
With reg-suit, storage and related workflow choices are explicit parts of the configuration. The project names AWS S3 and Google Cloud Storage among its storage-plugin examples, alongside plugins for commit-key generation and notifications such as GitHub, GitLab, Slack, and Chatwork. This gives the team choices to evaluate, but it is not evidence that reg-suit will be cheaper or more secure: assess cloud-storage charges, access controls, retention, operational ownership, and the effort of maintaining the configuration.

Percy’s product framing places visual review in an integrated hosted platform. Check how that review fits your pull-request process, who approves changes, and how your team handles baselines and access. The product descriptions alone do not support a claim that either approach has a superior review process.
Verify India-specific commercial and data terms
The reviewed official pages do not establish India-specific pricing, billing terms, service availability, data residency or handling, support arrangements, or contractual terms for either product. Confirm each item with the vendor before procurement, especially if your organization has requirements for where screenshots are stored, who can access them, or how long they are retained. Do not infer these details from a product’s global positioning or from the presence of a cloud-storage plugin.

- Creating calmer and happier mornings and bedtimes for the whole family by showing your child what they need to do to get ready.
- Encourages independence and therefore boosts self esteem as children are no longer dependent on you reminding them what comes next.
- Allows for processing time - the pictures, or pecs cards for autism, don't disappear like words do and therefore these are great for children with special educational needs, autism, ADHD, speech and language delay, ASD.
- Eliminates the need for you to nag - children can see what they need to do for themselves in this routine chart.
- Pictures cards can be moved around thanks to being attached using VELCRO Brand hook and loop, meaning you can order the routine to suit your family.
Consider ScreenshotNeo as a separate screenshot-capture alternative
If your team needs to capture pages as part of a visual-testing workflow, try ScreenshotNeo as the alternative to evaluate first: it returns screenshots or PDFs from a single API request, removes known consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture, and bills only clean shots. It is a screenshot API and MCP server, not a replacement claim for Percy’s review workflow or reg-suit’s image-comparison CLI; you would still need to decide how captures feed into your testing and review process.
Make a decision with a small workflow check
- List your current screenshot-producing framework, CI system, baseline process, and review channel.
- For reg-suit, verify that your screenshot output can be supplied to the CLI and test the intended key-generation, storage, and notification plugins.
- For Percy, verify an official SDK or integration for your framework and run a representative snapshot through your CI and code-review workflow.
- Compare the resulting operational responsibilities, access controls, review process, and vendor terms against your team’s requirements.
- Before signing up or procuring either service, obtain current India-specific pricing, billing, availability, support, data-handling, and contractual answers directly from the vendor.
Or skip the browser setup
For a direct capture without configuring a browser yourself, call ScreenshotNeo’s API. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options.
