To change what appears in an iPhone photo, open it in Photos and tap Edit, then Crop to adjust the visible edges or aspect ratio. If you mean Apple’s distinct Reframe tool, find it under Edit > Tools > Reframe; it adjusts perspective and is available only on supported Apple Intelligence devices, languages, and regions.
Choose between Crop and Reframe

Crop changes which part of the existing image is shown. Reframe is a separate Apple Intelligence editing tool. Apple describes its purpose this way: “Use the Reframe tool to change the point of capture after you take a photo.” The documentation does not promise that Reframe can recover arbitrary scene content that was never captured. How to crop or adjust a photo’s composition
- Open Photos and select the photo.
- Tap Edit, then Crop.
- Drag a corner of the crop frame or pinch to change the area you keep. Dragging a corner preserves the original aspect ratio by default; unlock the ratio if you want to change it.
- For a fixed format, choose a preset such as Square, Wallpaper, 9:16, or 5:7.
- Tap Done to save.
There is also a quick crop while viewing a photo: pinch to zoom, tap Crop in the top-right corner, make any further adjustments, then save. Apple’s Photos cropping instructions cover the controls and reverting edits.

How to use Apple’s Reframe tool
- In Photos, open the photo and tap Edit.
- Tap Tools, then Reframe.
- Touch and drag the photo to adjust its perspective. You can also use two fingers to pan, zoom, and rotate.
- Tap Reframe to apply the adjustment. Tap the photo to compare the reframed version with the original.
- Tap Done to save and close the editor.
Which iPhones can use Reframe?
Apple’s iOS 27 documentation ties its Apple Intelligence editing tools to an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or iPhone 16 model or later. Apple also says Apple Intelligence is not available in every language or region, and usage limits may apply. Check Apple’s current Reframe availability and device information and Apple Intelligence editing overview for your location and language. Undo an edit and sync it across devices
- Undo Reframe: Reopen the photo, go to Edit > Tools > Reframe, then tap Reset.
- Undo a crop or other standard edit: Reopen Edit and tap Revert.
- Sync edits: With iCloud Photos, edits are saved across your devices.
