Which battery capacity is correct?
There is no single capacity figure that matches all the regional specifications Xiaomi publishes for the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G. Xiaomi’s global specifications and UK FAQ list 8,340 mAh typical capacity. The UK FAQ also lists 8,190 mAh rated capacity and describes a dual-cell battery. Xiaomi India’s specifications list 9,000 mAh typical capacity. Xiaomi does not explain the discrepancy on these pages, so check the exact regional model and listing rather than treating either typical-capacity figure as universal.

How long does the battery last?
Xiaomi India advertises more than 3.5 days on one charge, based on Xiaomi Internal Labs testing in a simulated light daily-use scenario. Xiaomi says real results vary with the environment, software, network conditions, and individual usage. This is a manufacturer test claim, not a promise of multi-day runtime for every user; no independent battery-life comparison is established here.

How fast does the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G charge?
Xiaomi’s global and India specifications list up to 67 W wired charging. Xiaomi UK estimates a full charge at approximately 89 minutes with the recommended charger under optimal conditions, based on internal laboratory data. Treat that as Xiaomi’s conditional estimate, not a guaranteed time for every charger, outlet, temperature, or usage pattern.
Xiaomi says high ambient temperature, incompatible charging equipment, and heavy use while charging can reduce charging speed. The UK FAQ lists QC2.0, QC3.0, QC3+, PD2.0, PD3.0, and PPS support. It describes the included cable as a 1 m USB-A to USB-C cable rated at 6 A; check the local listing and package details before buying charging accessories.

Does the phone come with a charger?
Package contents vary by market. Xiaomi India’s specifications list a 67 W charger in the India package, while Xiaomi’s regional information warns that box contents can differ. Confirm the charger included with the exact REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G listing you plan to buy. If a charger is not included, do not assume that any third-party adapter will provide Xiaomi’s stated maximum charging rate.

Can it charge other devices?
Xiaomi lists up to 22.5 W wired reverse charging on its global and India specifications. Xiaomi says compatibility depends on devices verified by its internal labs and that actual performance may vary with battery condition and other factors. The stated maximum is not a guarantee that every connected device will charge at that rate.

Can you use the phone while it charges?
Yes, but Xiaomi recommends allowing the phone to charge without active use whenever possible for the best charging experience and battery longevity. Heavy use while charging may also slow charging, according to Xiaomi UK’s FAQ. The advice is to avoid demanding use during charging when practical, not a claim that any use while plugged in will damage the battery.

The approximately 89-minute estimate in Xiaomi’s UK FAQ applies only to optimal conditions with the recommended charger; a longer charge time outside those conditions does not, by itself, establish a fault.
What happens to battery life after a software update?
Xiaomi says battery drain may temporarily increase after an update while the phone completes optimization and indexing, and typically stabilizes within a few charge cycles. This is Xiaomi support guidance, not an independent battery-health assessment. If the drain persists beyond that period, the FAQ’s temporary-post-update explanation alone does not establish the cause.

Is it suitable for gaming and everyday use?
Xiaomi India markets the phone for multitasking, streaming, and video calls, and lists a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 platform. That describes the manufacturer’s intended everyday-use positioning; it does not establish independent performance results.
Xiaomi UK describes gaming as suitable for casual play but says the phone may not be optimal for large games. Its FAQ lists support of up to 60 fps for PUBG and CODM, up to 90 fps for MLBB, and up to 60 fps for LOLM. These are Xiaomi’s listed figures, subject to each game’s optimization and settings; they are not measurements of sustained frame rates in every session.
