The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G is the stronger spec-sheet fit if you want a 200MP optical-stabilised main camera and faster 100W charging; the vivo S2 stands out for its larger listed battery and curved POLED display. Official India specifications support that comparison, but the available price snapshot is not a verified live or like-for-like quote.

Choose the Redmi for camera hardware and charging
Xiaomi’s listed 200MP OIS main camera and 8MP ultrawide give the Redmi a more explicitly specified rear-camera setup, while its 100W in-box charger has a higher rated output than the 44W charging figure reported for vivo. These figures describe hardware, not actual photo quality or charging time; those depend on conditions and have not been established in matched tests.

Choose the vivo for battery capacity and curved POLED
vivo lists the S2’s battery at 7050mAh, compared with Xiaomi’s 6500mAh typical figure. That is a capacity comparison, not a prediction of which phone lasts longer: battery life depends on display settings, software, signal conditions and usage. The S2’s 1.5K 120Hz POLED panel may also appeal if you specifically prefer a curved display.

Do not treat the chipset names or megapixels as a performance verdict
The listed processors differ, but no matched real-world performance comparison is established here. vivo cites a 970,000 AnTuTu result for its 8GB + 256GB edition, obtained in vivo labs using AnTuTu Benchmark V11; vivo says scores can vary with memory configuration and test conditions. That single manufacturer lab result is not a direct comparison with the Redmi and should not be read as a general performance ranking. Likewise, camera megapixel counts alone do not establish which phone takes better pictures.
What do the phones cost in India?
A 91mobiles comparison snapshot lists ₹39,999 for the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G on Amazon and ₹39,490 for the vivo S2 on Amazon, a difference of ₹509 in that snapshot. These are third-party marketplace figures, not official prices or confirmed current offers; the exact variants, live stock and seller terms are not verified. Check the retailer listings for the intended configuration before deciding on price.

How to interpret the water-resistance ratings
The ratings describe protection under specified test conditions; neither phone should be called waterproof. vivo says its IP68 and IP69 results come from controlled tests and that resistance is not permanent. Xiaomi similarly warns that its listed IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K resistance depends on test conditions and can deteriorate. Avoid intentional exposure to water, and consult each manufacturer’s terms for the limits of any protection.
