On Xiaomi India’s listings, the Note 17 Pro 5G is specified with a 9000mAh typical battery and 67W charging, compared with 5500mAh typical and 45W for the Note 14 Pro 5G. Those capacity figures do not establish how long either phone lasts in everyday use: actual endurance depends on use and conditions, and no comparable battery test is provided here.

Do not treat either capacity as universal. Xiaomi lists 8340mAh typical for the Note 17 Pro 5G on its Mexico specifications page. For the Note 14 Pro 5G, Xiaomi lists 5110mAh typical on its Japan specifications page.
Display shape and size
The India listings describe the Note 14 Pro 5G as a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED and the Note 17 Pro 5G as a roughly 6.83-inch flat AMOLED. Both are listed for up to 120Hz refresh rate. The larger flat panel may suit someone who prefers more screen area and a flat surface; those physical differences alone do not establish overall display quality.

Processor and camera setup
The phones use different 4nm processors: MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra in the Note 14 Pro 5G and Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 in the Note 17 Pro 5G. Without comparable benchmark or real-world testing, the chipset names do not justify a claim that one is faster.

The India camera listings also differ: the Note 14 Pro 5G has a 50MP main, 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro rear configuration, while the Note 17 Pro 5G lists a 50MP OIS main and 8MP ultrawide. The listed front-camera resolutions are 20MP and 16MP respectively. Megapixel counts and component lists alone do not establish which phone takes better photos.

Storage and software
The India Note 14 Pro 5G page lists 8GB RAM with either 128GB or 256GB storage, using LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2. The Note 17 Pro 5G page lists up to 8GB + 256GB, with UFS 2.2 for the 128GB tier and UFS 3.1 for 256GB. Match storage tiers when comparing prices.
Xiaomi India lists Android 14 with HyperOS for the Note 14 Pro 5G and Android 16 with Xiaomi HyperOS 3 for the Note 17 Pro 5G. These are the versions shown on those pages, not a guarantee of the software installed on every unit now or its future update support. Check the current local product and support information before buying.

How much more does the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G cost?
There is no verified like-for-like price difference established here. Prices depend on country, retailer, date and RAM/storage configuration, so a number taken from different markets or unmatched storage tiers would be misleading.

To make a useful comparison, check both phones at the same retailer and in the same country, select the same storage tier where available, and compare the final prices on the same date. If a retailer does not offer a matching tier, record the configurations explicitly rather than treating the difference as a direct model-to-model price premium.

Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the Note 17 Pro 5G if the local version’s listed larger battery, faster charging, larger flat screen or 256GB storage option fits your priorities. Confirm that the specifications apply to the market and configuration you intend to buy.
- Consider the Note 14 Pro 5G if its curved 6.67-inch screen, listed camera configuration or a lower same-market price better matches what you need. Do not assume it is cheaper without checking current, comparable offers.
- Choose by measured performance or image quality only if you have comparable evidence for the exact variants; the specifications alone do not establish a performance or camera winner.
Checks before buying an imported or regional variant
Xiaomi’s regional pages show that specifications are not identical across markets. Xiaomi Mexico also notes that connectivity and network bands may vary with regional availability and local operator support. Before ordering, verify these details for the exact model and seller:
- Battery capacity, charging support and included adapter on the local specification page.
- 5G bands and other network compatibility with your carrier, especially for an imported unit.
- RAM and storage configuration, including storage type where it is listed.
- Local warranty coverage and whether the seller can provide service in your country.
- Box contents, since the listed adapter and accessories can vary by sales region.
