First identify whether one app is unusually active, then update it, limit its background activity, or uninstall it if you do not need it.

Android menu labels vary by phone and software version. Google’s battery-drain instructions describe Pixel phones, so use them only as general diagnostic context rather than following their exact menu path on a REDMAGIC device. Look in your phone’s Settings for a battery-usage screen, compare apps over the period when you noticed the drain, and investigate an app whose activity does not match how much you used it. - Lower brightness: Use a comfortable level rather than keeping the display brighter than the room requires.
- Adjust refresh rate: If the game does not need the highest available rate, try a lower setting and see whether it changes the drain.
- Reduce performance demand: REDMAGIC’s general guide recommends Eco or Balance modes for more efficient gaming. Try one if your software offers it; the exact control and its effect on the 12 Pro+ have not been verified.
- Manage heat: Take a break if the phone becomes hot, avoid adding unnecessary workload while gaming, and consider an optional phone cooler for gaming if heat is a recurring issue. No cooler compatibility with the 12 Pro+ is established, and a cooler is not a remedy for unexplained drain while idle.
These are manufacturer recommendations for REDMAGIC gaming phones, not measured battery-life improvements or confirmed 12 Pro+ instructions. If the problem started after an update
Google says Pixel phones can use extra battery temporarily while optimizing after an update, and advises seeking help if unusual drain continues after a few days. That guidance is specific to Pixel phones: the available REDMAGIC sources do not establish an equivalent recovery period for the 12 Pro+. If the drain began after an update, monitor whether it settles, check for another available update, and contact REDMAGIC support if it remains unusual rather than assuming a particular timeline.
