The operational distinction matters: separate processes generally have separate memory. An in-memory conversation or cache held by one worker is not automatically visible to another, and process-local assets may be duplicated as workers are added.

For a multi-worker deployment, use storage accessible to every worker for state that must persist or be shared across requests. Do not rely on a worker’s local memory as the sole record of a conversation or as the authoritative source for memory retrieval. Authorize every conversation lookup
A conversation identifier identifies a record; it does not prove that the caller is allowed to read it. The OpenAI Agents SDK documentation explicitly warns that a session ID does not authenticate a user or authorize access. The application must check access to each session and protect its underlying storage and backups.
