Which phone has the better display?
Choose the P4 for AMOLED
The P4’s 6.77-inch 144Hz AMOLED screen is the clearer choice if panel type, contrast and display quality are priorities. realme lists its resolution as 1080×2392, plus 1600-nit HBM and 4500-nit peak brightness. These are manufacturer specifications, not a side-by-side independent brightness test.

The P4x has a slightly smaller 6.72-inch FHD+ display and a stated 144Hz refresh rate. realme lists 1000-nit peak brightness but does not identify the panel as AMOLED in the surfaced India product text, so do not assume it offers the same panel technology as the P4.

Performance and gaming: same listed chipset
Both India-market pages identify the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra 5G. The P4 page additionally promotes a “Dual Chips System,” a Hyper Vision AI chip and X7P super-resolution and super-frame features. Those are additional graphics/display-processing claims; they do not mean the listed base chipset is different from the P4x’s.
realme’s benchmark and frame-rate figures are vendor or laboratory claims, and results depend on the game and test conditions. The listed specifications alone do not establish which phone performs better in sustained gameplay.
Battery capacity is matched; charging speed is not
Both phones are marketed with a 7000mAh typical battery. For the P4, realme also specifies 6830mAh minimum capacity and 80W Ultra Charge, and says an 80W adapter is included in the box. The P4x supports 45W; realme says maximum charging rate requires its 45W charger and original cable. A larger or equal stated capacity does not by itself establish real-world battery life, and the manufacturers’ endurance figures should be treated as their own test claims.

Camera differences: the P4 has more listed versatility
The P4 pairs a 50MP main camera with an 8MP wide-angle rear camera, lists a 16MP front camera and supports rear video recording up to 4K/30fps. The P4x lists a 50MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera and a 4K video claim. The extra wide-angle camera gives the P4 a stated additional shooting option, but megapixel counts and camera lists cannot establish which phone takes better photos. realme also lists AI image features for the P4x.
Portability and protection
At approximately 185g and 7.58mm thick, the P4 is lighter and slimmer on the listed figures than the P4x, which is 208g and 8.39mm thick. That difference may matter if you prefer a phone that feels less bulky.
realme states that the P4x has IP64 protection and military-grade certified durability. Its IP64 disclaimer says testing was under controlled laboratory conditions and resistance may diminish over time; do not treat the rating as a guarantee against damage in every situation. The cited P4 specifications do not state an equivalent protection rating.

What is the price difference?
As observed on realme Store India on October 4, 2026, a P4 Steel Grey 8GB+128GB listing showed ₹30,999, against a displayed MRP of ₹45,999. A store catalog result showed the P4x at ₹26,999 against ₹38,999, but did not establish a matching RAM/storage configuration or clearly separate a live offer from the regular selling price. These are dated, volatile listings—not a verified ₹4,000 difference between comparable phones.

Before buying, compare the same RAM and storage tier and apply discounts consistently. Check whether each displayed amount depends on a bank offer, exchange, coupon or other condition, and confirm the seller and configuration on the live listing. realme’s India store is the relevant place to recheck current manufacturer-store listings; prices and availability can change.
Which one should you buy?
Pick the realme P4 if you value
- An AMOLED display, with stated 1080×2392 resolution.
- An 8MP wide-angle rear camera and a 16MP front camera.
- A lighter, slimmer body on the listed dimensions.
- 80W charging and an included 80W adapter, as specified by realme.
Consider the realme P4x if you value
- Its stated IP64 protection and durability positioning.
- A 144Hz FHD+ display and the same listed Dimensity 7400 Ultra chipset and 7000mAh typical battery as the P4.
- A lower live price for the exact configuration you want, once RAM, storage and offer conditions are matched.
There is no unconditional value winner in the available store snapshots: choose based on the features you will use and the current like-for-like price, rather than comparing unmatched listing amounts.
