Which phone has the better display?
The P4 Pro has the sharper display on paper: its 1280 × 2800 resolution is substantially higher than the REDMI 17 5G’s 720 × 1600 HD+ resolution, and its listed maximum refresh rate is 144Hz rather than 120Hz. Those differences favor the realme for fine detail and smoother supported motion.

The REDMI 17 5G has the larger diagonal screen at 6.9 inches, compared with 6.8 inches on the P4 Pro. Choose it if screen size matters more than resolution; a larger diagonal does not mean a sharper image.

Performance and cameras
Chipsets
Realme lists a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 in the P4 Pro, while Xiaomi lists a Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 in the REDMI 17 5G. That makes the P4 Pro the more performance-oriented choice by the manufacturers’ named chipset tiers, but the specifications alone do not establish real-world speed, gaming frame rates, or battery efficiency.
Camera hardware
The P4 Pro offers a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP front camera. Xiaomi lists a 50MP main camera and an 8MP front camera for the REDMI 17 5G. The stated hardware gives the realme more camera options, including a dedicated ultra-wide lens and OIS on the main camera; megapixel counts alone cannot tell you which phone takes better photographs.

Battery, charging, and software support
Xiaomi lists a 7900mAh typical battery for the REDMI 17 5G, compared with 7000mAh typical (6830mAh rated minimum) for the P4 Pro. The REDMI also supports 22.5W wired reverse charging. These are capacity and feature comparisons, not a prediction of how long either phone will last: usage, settings, and network conditions affect battery life.

Xiaomi states that the REDMI 17 5G will receive 4 years of OS updates and 6 years of security updates. The realme specifications reviewed identify realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15 but do not state a matching update-duration commitment. That absence on the listed page is not proof that no other commitment exists; compare the support terms available for the exact model and market before buying.
India price difference and availability
Xiaomi India’s store listing showed the REDMI 17 5G starting at ₹23,999. A 91mobiles comparison listing showed the realme P4 Pro at ₹28,999 and marked it out of stock, alongside the REDMI at ₹23,999. Those displayed figures imply a ₹5,000 difference, but they are not a like-for-like live quote: one is an official store listing and the other is a secondary comparison page, and the realme listing was out of stock.
